Anonymous Coward User ID: 16363866 United States 08/29/2016 09:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes, and in northern Indiana we just had 8" record of rain. I think it rained non-stop from noon to midnight give or take. Basements were collapsing and boats were riding down the streets. Now the mosquitoes are in overdrive with their virus. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 72818079 United States 08/29/2016 09:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I got to work and back just fine. Cities who receive such massive amount of rain tend to prepare their infrastructure for it..... I have been on this planet for 53 years and lived all over the USA. Nothing is going on here, move along, it is called "weather". "Weather" has cycles. It is all a cycle folks, one year cold, or two years cold, one year hot and humid, another kinda dry. One year cloudy, another not. One or two years, heavy/wet snow, other years light and cold snow. I know, I shoveled it. I have been watching this my entire life. I am old enough to watch the government "alarm cycles" go from this: an ice age is coming...to, we got global warming coming, etc. I have seen at least 5 cycles of the government "we gonna die in a new ice age" and "we gonna die from heat". I am sick and tired of hearing it all from the government. Their records only, realistically, go back a hundred years or so. They can do all the core samples they want of arctic ice, but it is not the true story. Government is scum. Their people are overpaid and do not know what the hell they are talking about. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 16363866 United States 08/29/2016 09:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I used to live in NE San Antonio. One day, my rain gauge said 11 inches. That didn't even make the local news. My brother, far away in Washington State, called to talk to me about the rain we had received - as he has seen it on the news and was concerned about. I was unalarmed because in San Antonio we had four seasons: Heat, humidity, flood and tornado. It was flood season and most natives knew what to do. No big deal... I don't hear anyone panicking in here. All OP asked was, "is this the wettest year you've ever experienced?" I've been on this planet 51 years and it IS the wettest I've experienced. That's pretty much all that's being said. |

Grass and flowers are happy! 80s and sunshine would be welcome for a change... Quoting: Anonymous Coward 48566205 yep, I am thirty miles E of the springs - and just amazed at how much water we are getting (today) this Summer - like someone else said, my fields are usually golden brown, by August - not only are they still green (and growing strong) but they are lush and deep - even with my livestock munching them down - I don't think we have gone three days without rain, since March ... never seen hail after mid June - but it has hailed big time this year - busting through the pannels on my green house ... and continued to hail right up until today ??? did you notice the Peak is covered with snow ? |
