Terrible. I was going to leave all my money to the Wild Horse Sanctuary when I died but now I have to change my will.

There IS, BTW, a very large gold mining project much closer to Mustang Monument, but you seem to have no clue of it or how it relates to the property. This fact illustrates your ignorance of the lay of the land and the issues of the area. I will just sit back and chuckle as you carry on....

George Knapp posted this today, of course I discussed the trolling going on with his article prior:

[link to time.com]

How Trolls Are Ruining the Internet

A Pew Research Center survey published two years ago found that 70% of 18-to-24-year-olds who use the Internet had experienced harassment, and 26% of women that age said they’d been stalked online. This is exactly what trolls want. A 2014 study published in the psychology journal Personality and Individual Differences found that the approximately 5% of Internet users who self-identified as trolls scored extremely high in the dark tetrad of personality traits: narcissism, psychopathy, Machiavellianism and, especially, sadism.

Re: Wild Horse Shenanigans - Management Into Extinction - UPDATED
This is from Deb Coffey, a true wild horse advocate, not some billionaire with alternative motives. Coffey is the Director of Wild Horse Affairs of the Wild Horse Freedom Federation. That organization was opposed to the Mustang Monument proposal from the very beginning. Why? Because Madeleine's horse farm has nothing to do with preserving wild horses and the range they are currently found in.

"While I commend Madeleine Pickens for saving hundreds of horses from going to slaughter and nothing in this article is meant to question what seems to be her good and generous intentions, the public needs to play the devil’s advocate with the BLM and consider all aspects of this plan.

Saving America’s Mustangs has 66 water rights in 5 Basins, many on the HMAs. What if the eco-sanctuary isn’t approved? Saving America’s Mustangs will still have all those water rights in and near the 3 HMAs. Will Saving America’s Mustangs then apply for a change of use for all of the water permits?

Of course, the elephant in the room is that T. Boone Pickens (Mesa Water) is on the Advisory Board of Saving America’s Mustangs. This could make you wonder if he’ll ever give advice about the water rights at any point in time. Just last year in Texas, Mesa Water was in a legal

fight with the Texas Water Development Board over underground water goals. Also, the executive director of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality dismissed Mesa Water’s request for an inquiry and to possibly dissolve local water conservation districts, dismiss their boards or force them to change their goals.

If the eco-sanctuary is approved, what happens in 20-30 years when all of the horses in the non-reproducing herd have died? Will we even have any wild horses left on public lands in another 20-30 years to put on this eco-sanctuary? Where will those horses be removed from? Will the BLM put another non-reproducing herd on this eco-sanctuary? Where is all of this heading? The BLM plans more eco-sanctuaries, so the Saving America’s Mustangs plan seems to be setting the stage for more to come."

The BLM isn't planning any eco sanctuaries. More like sterilization and birth control. Further destruction of genetic diversity. Mismanagement into extinction.

Why is it so many cattlemen and ranchers can't mind their own business when someone new buys land in their towns? It is really the crux of the problem, running people off, terrorizing them and making them want to leave. I discussed this before. You seem to know a whole heck of a lot of personal information about that piece of land and the business therein. Why?

And nearby natural gas and oil leases being auctioned off by the BLM? No doubt, given the industry he is in, he had his sights on those, too. So many naive do-gooders were duped into these plans years ago without doing their research. It's truly sad. I care for animals and I care for the land. Madeleine cares about $$$$$$. That is not hard to see.
What is also not hard to see is that you are shilling for her or actually are her. George Knapp has good intentions and is an intelligent man. He will get to the bottom of this and realize that he was used by a filthy, Botox faced, coke whore, billionaire soon enough.

Easy enough to do your due diligence but you would rather be nasty and mean with your trolling than a positive contributor who can bring other perspectives to the table without resorting to low vibrating ad hominem attacks. I can too, as you saw. But I suggest you remain civil, show us your cowboy side, or did that get bred out of you?

Where we clash is the wild horse itself. I prize them while you liken them to feral nags. That is typical rancher mentality. They would rather overbreed their quarter horses and send them to slaughter (breed bias) than realize a damn good horse sitting right in front of them for 125 dollars, or, heck, three strike wild horses are 25 bucks.

Nope gotta have the dock peppy bar jack dude cowboy king horse that looks like it took steroids....

Have you noticed that Madeleine's Twitter and FB accts have gone mysteriously quiet? Perhaps during her FBI interview she realized that she may have done one or two things wrong?

BTW, I don't have to be your opponent. I just find your unwavering opinion on the subject to be quite frustrating. There are many different angles to this story and many facts, yet, to be uncovered. I don't mind sharing with you what I know, so let's drop the insults and negative tone between each other? I do love all my GLP brothers and sisters.

Any thoughts on this? I find it interesting that Madeleine's "main man" at Mustang Monument lives not to far from American Falls, ID and operates a real estate agency in Twin Falls.

AMERICAN FALLS — A 6-year-old mustang mare named Dee was found dead inside her pasture Sunday from what appeared to be at least one stab wound to her gut. The bay horse would have delivered a colt next month.

Further, after a 10-day stay at A Little Piece of Heaven Horse Rescue, located on Fish Hatchery Road just outside of American Falls, Dee had been adopted and her new owner was planning to pick her up later that day.

Kim Clark operates A Little Piece of Heaven, along with her daughter, Erin McGuire, and Erin’s partner, Ian Beddo. Rainah, Erin’s 7-year-old daughter, also resides on the 90-acre ranch adjacent to the Snake River.

Clark said the family suspects that Dee was attacked at about 2:30 a.m.

“The dogs all started barking, but we get a lot of coyotes, porcupines and skunks out here and that’s what we thought it was,” Clark said.

But the next day, she found the mare dead in the middle of the field. The animal had received a deep slice near its flank. Dee also had trauma to her face — enough trauma that the veterinarian said her nasal cavity was shattered.

Butterball #scam for mustang slaughter

[link to protectmustangs.org]

“BLM’s got those wild horses as fat as butterballs–all paid for with taxpayer dollars,” explained an anonymous source. “That way they always have buyers wanting them by the truckload.”

“If you think they aren’t selling wild horses to buyers taking them to slaughter then you’re really naive,” continued the source. “BLM just hasn’t got caught recently.”

“Do you know what ever happened to the racket they were running out of Utah?” the source snickered. “Remember when they had a truckload of mustangs as fat as butterballs heading to slaughter? They were going to get busted because someone squealed. BLM busted them to keep the truth from getting out.”

The Cold Creek horses, (in my photos) all went to Utah and they used the term Butterball when describing them around the winter time, approx. three-four months after they were removed from the wild.

Just sickens me.

Yeah this is one sick person, this horse was saved from slaughter, was pregnant and adopted to a loving home, ready to travel and killed by one sick individual. Someone is sending messages to the wild horse community.

Who is this "ranch hand"? Why hasn't he been questioned, yet? Hmm.

This week, two more dead horses were found, along with other spots where her fencing had been cut by vandals. The Elko County Sheriff's Office which is a partner in the investigation, said it appears that some of the horses had been dead for weeks. Pickens said the ranch hand she hired was supposed to make regular checks on the Goshute herd. It's more than an hour's drive from the main herd and ranch house, but investigators reportedly have not spoke to him about how often he checked on the herd. Pickens paid to rescue the horses and installed the water system that worked fine until someone sabotaged it.

No idea what to make of it. Yeah very strange, but then again must be hard to find someone to trust to work for you if the general population in the vicinity is against your endeavors.

Money also talks, so people who are not emotionally invested in your cause or the same cause are more likely to succumb to being bribed or could be paid off to do "shenanigans."

I brought trainers down from another country to work out of my barn and someone else romanced them away after we paid all their expenses, moved their belongings which included a horse and truck, rented them a house, physically helped move them in to their property. Several months later they were gone, removing their horse in the middle of the night out of the barn to avoid facing the professional interaction necessary -- hence a proper meeting about such things. Another barn basically hired them from underneath us and all that money we invested in bringing them to the US was lost, a bad investment. Money talked there too. You can't trust people will care for what you do, in general, most people in the horse industry need to be vetted a little bit further than a normal situation, just my experience. The industry seems to attract a lot of wackos....

It's a small town. I know two of the guys that work for her. One more of a manager type, the other works below him. I guess politics may be at play, and the sheriff's office doesn't want to ruffle feathers. The stakes are high here as multiple people could be charged with felonies and there is a huge monetary reward on the table. I guess I will keep my ear to the ground to see what gossip surfaces next.

I did read a post somewhere on Facebook that "the ranch hand" has been fired. That is all I know. Don't know which one. I have a guess, though. I'm thinking he must have not checked on the horses as often as he had been instructed to. I think there may be a drug/alcohol abuse issue there. From what I gather, Madeleine has been away from the ranch quite a bit this summer. There are some news stories of Trump/Republican fundraisers hosted by her and friends in San Diego area. $300k/person parties. Damn! Maybe she could get some Trump people to grease the skids on the investigation if she's throwing that kind of $$ at him?

Interesting how the sheriff is trying to point at wild horse advocates (tomfoolery), I have never heard of any advocates that are that hell bent on making wild horses free-er than they were on that eco-sanctuary...other than being wild in their original herd management areas and those horses were way better off saved than slaughtered. Distraction by the sheriff no doubt, and very concerning. I think Madeline has a better idea and lead to the culprits, based on previous incidents (of hate) that she had experienced :

The Elko Sheriff's Office told the I-Team that one theory is that good samaritans or horse advocates might have done it in order to free the horses from their 12,000 acre fenced range. Animal activists have been critical of Pickens plan to create a sanctuary for rescued mustangs. Comments posted in the Elko newspaper show many in that cattle-friendly community harbor harsh opinions about Pickens' operation.

But Pickens says, the fact that the perpetrators turned off the water suggests it was an act of violence aimed at the horses. Her property has been vandalized several times before, and gun-toting locals have pumped bullets into her facilities. The sheriff's office says it has received no tips from the public so far.

The worst people I have seen that are involved in the wild horse agenda are the BLM, Pro-Slaughter people, and the cattlemen/ranchers. I have seen them in action time and time again with the bullying online --downright vicious and sick behaviors against the people (advocates) trying to help the horses. I have seen with my own eyes what they have to put up with defending themselves against these bullies and trolls. No advocates would cut fences and free the horses, that is just plain bullcrap. That is going to cause more problems, like horses getting hit by cars, etc. And besides, a cut fence is a calling card of rancher shenanigans. I personally went through the crap as I already said prior.....ugh. This really has me fired up. I think your sheriff friend is complicit somehow if he is trying to frame advocates.

Repeal The Burns Amendment, Restore The Wild Free-Roaming Horses & Burros Act
22,730 Letters Sent So Far

From 1971 until 2004, wild horses and burros were protected from slaughter. In 2004, they lost that protection and we want their protection restored.

On December 15, 1971, Congress enacted 16 USC Ch. 30, popularly known as the "Wild Free-Roaming Horses and Burros Act" (WHBA) and declared "that wild free-roaming horses and burros shall be protected from capture, branding, harassment, or death; and to accomplish this they are to be considered in the area where presently found, as an integral part of the natural system of the public lands.

On November 12, 1996, the WHBA was amended and Section 9 was added, wherein "the Secretary may...use motor vehicles, fixed-wing aircraft, or helicopters, or to contract for such use...".

On December 8, 2004, Sec. 142 of H.R. 4818, added by Senator Conrad Burns, R-MT, amended Federal law to: (1) eliminate the prohibition on the sale or transfer of wild free-roaming horses or burros (or their remains) under the protection and management of the Secretary or the Secretary of Agriculture for consideration for processing into commercial products; and (2) set forth requirements for the sale of such excess horses and burros and their remains." Subsequently Section 3 of the WHBA was amended by the addition of: "e) Sale of Excess Animals. (1) In general. Any excess animal or the remains of an excess animal shall be sold if (A) the excess animal is more than 10 years of age; or (B) the excess animal has been offered unsuccessfully for adoption at least 3 times. (2) Method of sale. An excess animal that meets either of the criteria in paragraph (1) shall be made available for sale without limitation, including through auction to the highest bidder, at local sale yards or other convenient livestock selling facilities...(4) Effect of sale. Any excess animal sold under this provision shall no longer be considered to be a wild free-roaming horse or burro for purposes of this Act.'' This amendment became known as The Burns Amendment.

Thousands of our wild horses have been sold and slaughtered as a result of this amendment. Any wild horse or burro more than 10 years old OR not adopted after being offered three (3) times can be sold without limitation, INCLUDING weanlings, pregnant mares and elderly band stallions that have lived their entire life on the the range. THIS IS WRONG!!

I, the undersigned American citizen, DEMAND that Congress REPEAL 803(a) of Public Law 104333, as well as 142(a)(1) and 142(a)(2) of Public Law 108447.

Well, near Elko used to be a large project run by a teen boys correctional facility that raised a large amount of chukars. It was successful for years and they raised and released thousands of birds into the wild. One night a group of animal rights activists vandalized the facility and let all the birds out. Being right next to the freeway, most of the birds were hit and killed by passing cars. So...that is where a bit of the mindset of the sheriff may be coming from. During the initial meetings of officials and people interested in Mustang Monument there were many wild horse advocacy groups that expressed vehement opposition to Madeleine's plans because she wanted to do away with some of the original herd management areas on her ranch. That meant removing the herds that were already there, had been there for eons. She imported all the horses that are now on the ranch from a Paiute reservation. None of them indigenous to her ranchland.

95 percent of what I see advocates do is monitor all the kill pens and feed lots for wild horses and then they raise money to save the horses and find homes for them. Circulating petitions is another. There are also wild horse rescues that garner a lot of support (or angst) depending on the more shallow factors, truly.

I have never seen any anarchy type behaviors in any of these people. They are usually very well educated, typically women, though there are men as well, but a majority of women who truly love horses.

I think the worse thing I would do as an advocate would be to go on a hunger strike. Vandalism isn't my thing, nor is it anything any of my fellow advocates subscribe to. We spend our time doing a lot of research on law, horse health and medicine (for the PZP angle), and familiarize ourselves with the different HMA's.

Downright vandalism isn't a calling card of a horse advocate, as far as I have seen. Based on what I already said, that points to others. Just because someone expresses criticism doesn't mean they are going to break the law, commit felonies, vandalism, and acts that lead to (beloved) horse deaths....
