I wonder...the article said that outrage on social media led to the case being closed. Maybe the prosecutors and the bureaucrats and politicians pulling their strings are beginning to get a little nervous at the prospect of a backlash that could cost them more than just their cushy, outrageously over-paid jobs.

The EU have a different sort of law which is incompatible with Common Law.

The Continental law is nuts and they have tried to implement it here.

I do not know enough about our law but under common law I am sure this would be the case.
