I will add that I would rather fight for the Constitution and fail than submit to the progressive republicrat parties and win. But it takes truly believing in something that is good (the Constitution). If you have soft principles, then I can see how you don't mind voting for killery or trump.

Just want to say I voted for Chuck Baldwin in 2008. Couldn't stand the thought of Obama or McInsane as president. My hope was the party could get 5% of the vote to receive federal matching funds for the next election cycle. I'm not voting Hillary, or Bernie or whomever, but if the election looks close in my state, I will vote for Trump. I do not want another 8 years of Obama's policies.

If my state looks to be a crushing defeat for the Dims, then I'll throw my vote to the constitution guy, again hoping for 5%.

What is the CP position on prohibition?

I don't know that they actually have a stance on 'prohibition' but they do on states rights and that is why I joined the party.

Statehood
US Constitution, Article I Section 8 Clause 17:
“Congress shall have power …To exercise exclusive Legislation in all Cases whatsoever, over such District (not exceeding ten Miles square) as may, by Cession of particular States, and the acceptance of Congress, become the Seat of the Government of the United States, and to exercise like Authority over all Places purchased by the Consent of the Legislature of the State in which the Same shall be, for the Erection of Forts, Magazines, Arsenals, dock Yards, and other needful Buildings…”
Article IV Section 4:
“The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government.”
Article IV Section 4 Clause 3
“New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union.”
Northwest Ordinance of 1787 (re-enacted under Constitutional authority 1789) defined that all new states appropriately admitted will enter the nation on an equal footing with the original 13 states.
We oppose any effort to confer statehood on the District of Columbia or any representation in Congress comparable to that of an independent state in the federal union.

We oppose efforts to confer statehood upon the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico or expand statehood beyond the current fifty states.

We acknowledge that each state’s membership in the Union is voluntary.

We support the equal footing doctrine co-equal with the original thirteen states for all states coming into and having entered the Union as states.

State Sovereignty
The 10th Amendment states: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.”

The Constitution delegated few, enumerated powers to the Federal Government, reserving all remaining powers to the States and the people. Thus, powers of the Federal were the exception.
Our federal republic was created by joint action of the several states. It has been gradually perverted into a socialist machine for federal control in the domestic affairs of the states.

The federal government has no authority to mandate policies relating to state education, natural resources, transportation, private business, housing, and health care, ad infinitum.

We call upon the states to reclaim their legitimate role in federal affairs and legislation (See Amendment 10 United States Constitution) and thus cause the federal government to divest itself of operations not authorized by the Constitution and extract the federal government from such enterprises, whether or not they compete with private enterprise. Tariffs and Trade
Article I, Section 8, of the Constitution states that Congress shall have the power “To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations.”
Congress may not abdicate or transfer to others these Constitutional powers. We oppose, therefore, the unconstitutional transfer of authority over U.S. trade policy from Congress to agencies, domestic or foreign, which improperly exercise policy-setting functions with respect to U.S. trade policy.

Article I, Section 8 provides that duties, imposts, and excises are legitimate revenue-raising measures on which the United States government may properly rely. In no event will the U.S. tariff on any foreign import be less than the difference between the foreign item’s cost of production and the cost of production of a similar item produced in the United States. Tariffs are not only a constitutional source of revenue, but, wisely administered, are an aid to preservation of the national economy. Since the adoption of the 1934 Trade Agreements Act, the United States government has engaged in a free trade policy which has destroyed or endangered important segments of our domestic agriculture and industry, undercut the wages of our working men and women, and totally destroyed or shipped abroad the jobs of hundreds of thousands of workers. This free trade policy is being used to foster socialism in America through welfare and subsidy programs.

We oppose all international trade agreements which have the effect of diminishing America’s economic self-sufficiency and of exporting jobs, the loss of which impoverishes American families, undermines American communities, and diminishes America’s capacity for economic self-reliance, and the provision of national defense.

We see our country and its workers as more than bargaining chips for multinational corporations and international banks in their ill-conceived and evil New World Order.

We reject the trade concept of normal trade relations (Most Favored Nation status), used to curry favor with regimes whose domestic and international policies are abhorrent to decent people everywhere, and which are in fundamental conflict with the vital interests of the United States of America.

We strongly oppose unconstitutional “Trade Promotion Authority,” which transfers the establishment of trade policy from Congress to the Executive branch of government.

In the name of free trade, multi-national corporations have been given tax breaks by the U.S. government which are not available to American businesses, and the money extracted from U.S. taxpayers has been used by the government to subsidize exports and encourage businesses to move abroad. Such improprieties must cease.

I went to their website and found their policy. Looks like they want to leave it up to the states, but they want the states to enact laws prohibiting access to drugs.

If the Feds get out of the way, prohibition will go away in most states.

The only thing that explains it are these three verses:

I am genuinely open to conversation, I am looking to understand why Castle is better than the Hillary Trump machine. Gary Johnson has proven to be, more or less, an agitator. He is not a true conservative and his willingness to be lenient and flip flop on issues is concerning.

This is where I differ from Ozark Granny. I have studied the Bible thoroughly over the years. And I see what is happening now was written about a couple thousand years ago. This once great Country (and the rest of the World by default) is going into the abyss. There is nothing we can do about it. It will continually and progressively get worse. It is bad now, but today is like a day at the county fair compared to what it will be like in the near future.

The ONLY way to turn it around is for Christianity to return here en masse. But that is not going to happen. The forces of pure evil, which include the republicrat parties, keep gaining power and influence. And the lost sheep keep sucking up more and more of it like it is their only choice.

Yes you did and I apologize, as I have had to 'defend' this thread and got side-tracked. As well as constant Internet issues, which started happening when I got involved in the 'patriot' movement ... imagine that!

I am not side-tracking here, but I honestly have to vet Darrell Castle, maybe you can help!

Let me explain a bit, I got involved in what I call the 'patriot' movement when Stewart Rhodes of Oath Keepers asked me to setup an armed guard for our recruiters in my home town. This was after the four Marines were shot in Chattanooga, TN. One thing has lead to another, especially after the Bundy's and the subsequent murder of LaVoy Finnicum. Some of the 'regulars' will know I followed that extensively. We also had a property rights issue in Missouri and I became involved in that ... AND now I am running for a state office on the Constitution Party platform. All of this has occurred this last year!
I am just learning of the Constitution Party during this year. One of the armed guards that was involved in the Oath Keeper OP: Protect our Protectors ran on that party ticket for for a congressional seat in my area in 2012.

In 2012 I represented Ron Paul at our county Republican caucus and was appointed the Parliamentarian. I might add I was appointed over a sitting parliamentarian that is this area state representative ...

ANYWAY ... In March of this year I organized a rally for property rights, as the state is STEALING land in Missouri!!! One of our vendors was the Constitution Party and the same guard fellow was the op. I started researching their platform, which I support!
No I did not research Mr. Castle at that time and it was not the reason I joined the party. I, at that time, had little hope for third-party presidential candidate.

NOW here we are after the RNC and I am VERY HOPEFUL!
But in need of research.
