Outbreaks of E coli 0157 poisoning are relatively rare compared with other food poisoning diseases. Quoting: IamMewhoAreyou Two people have died after becoming infected with E. coli following an outbreak of the bug in England. Public Health England (PHE) has said the disease, which has infected 151 people in Britain, may be linked to eating mixed salad leaves. The health body is investigating whether rocket imported from the Mediterranean has caused the outbreak of E. coli o157. PHE did not reveal where the two people died but said there have been 144 cases in England, mainly in the south west, six in Wales and one in Scotland.
