Authorities have closed some streets in Southwest Washington and evacuated the Ford House Office Building as they investigate a report of a suspicious package.

Employees and media were told to exit the building and leave the block. A United States Capitol Police bomb squad arrived on scene.

The Ford office building, located farther down Capitol Hill from other office buildings, does not have offices for lawmakers. It contains the Congressional Budget Office and other staff.

Part of the U.S. Capitol complex was evacuated Tuesday morning due to a suspicious package.

The Ford House Office Building was evacuated just before 10 a.m. The building hosts the Congressional Budget Office, among other offices, but no lawmakers.

It's usually cleared up quickly if it's false alarm.
