This is False...studied the weather since I was like 5 years old. Thirty years late still enjoy the weather. The jet stream is located just below the Troposhphere which is located about 6 miles high or 9.5km. You need to use the 200-300hpa maps ideally to view the jet stream winds. Looking at the current direction I'd say they are pretty normal. Current Jet Stream Below: [ link to www.windyty.com (secure)] One more time. Go here: [ link to earth.nullschool.net (secure)] Select 250 hPa - which IS jetstream level Zoom in on Atlantic - Africa - Indian Ocean by using mouse button 1) There should not be a jetstream going across the equator 2) It should not move Westwards
