Trump indeed just postponed tomorrow's VP announcement. Right call.

Hope he changes his mind and dumps that far-Right stiff Mike Pence (who isn't even popular in Indiana, how the hell is he gonna help Donald in Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, Virginia?!!!)

I still don't get why Trump is wasting time with a conventional "Congressional" safe-pick for VP.

You first gotta WIN the damn White House!

And in 2016, voting is all about Popularity Contest & Social Media-approval. In plan terms: he needs a VP that will be exciting & beloved by the majority of low-information lemmings in Florida, Pennsylvania and Ohio. That's how you get to '270'

Look, I understand Trump is facing a huge dilemma: if he picks Jeff Sessions or Newt Gingrich, then majority of Americans will reject the Trump ticket as "extremist Old White Guy". You simply CANNOT win without women, hispanics, blacks, Independents, Moderates, Centrists, Undecideds, Distruntled Bernie-Bro's, et al. Again, the math just doesn't work. That's WHY you need someone like Pam Bondi or Tulsi Gubbard.

On the other hand: Trump is already viewed by True Conservatives, hardcore Christians, Libertarian wings of the GOP... with a big suspicion due to his background as a Manhatten Liberal. If that weren't enough, Mormons flat-out reject him because "he's too rich and not nice to Prophet Mitt derr derrpity"

Trump campaign is working hard - with Jeff Sessions, Sarah Palin, Jerry Falwell Jr, et al's help -- in order to alleviate those "hard-Conservative" grievances & concerns. With mixed results so far, given Trump's mediocre polling with Republicans (for someone who is a run-away Nominee!)

So if Trump were to pick some young, Socially liberal woman - or even a Chris Christie type ..... then aformentined True Conservatives, hardcore Christians & Libertarians will just say "oh fuck it, I am staying home; I told you Trump was a fraud!"

It's literally an impossible situation for Donald. Damned if he do, damned if he don't. Conservative Radio scumbags like Glen Beck, Mark Levin, Bill Krystol certainly don't help the matters by inciting the base of the party against Trump non-stop, 24/7.

Now I think Trump shouldn't try to please "True Conservatives" and Libertarians". All together they are a fairly small % of the General Electorate. And chances are, even if he were to pick, say, a Jeff Sessions ------> the Ted Cruz and Ron Paul people would STILL find a way to reject Trump in November.

Some bullshit reason, or another bullshit "purist" reason. Like something Trump said or did 30 years ago, or whatever. Believe me, there is no stupid quite like "True Conservative" stupid. Totally self-defeating bunch of jamooks, who either get what they *demand* 100% of the time --- or they take their ball and go home.

Mitt Romney was a good example. I don't personally like the guy for what he did to Trump, but I have to admit: he was a rare Republican who managed to WIN in a deeply liberal state like Massachussetts. That's some feat. So of course, his views had to be moderate - otherwise it would be impossible to win & govern with 95% Liberal legislation. Even though as a Utah Conservative, Mittens is pretty far from a liberal himself, LOL

During 2012 Republican Primaries, however, Romney took hard-Right positions. He knew it would damage him with Women & Hispanics during a General Election, but he thought he would get a natural boost from hard-Right & True-Conservatives he tried to court so hard.

And guess what? All the "True Conservatives" and Ron Paul Libertarians laughed at the "stiff Mitt" and said "haha, we aren't voting for you anyway! Kthxbai"

And that's how we got Obama's 2nd term and all the global horror that came with it. And about to get 8 years of Hillary, a super-Liberal Supreme Court, open borders, the works.

I bet same thing happens with Trump. Hard-Right will find an excuse to stick it to him. So Trump's best bet is to move to the Center and get a sexy blonde like Pam Bondi. Women love her. Younger people love her. (Democrat) Men will get an erection and secretly vote for her, too, haha
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71955671

PS. Not just Pam Bondi, but Trump has 3 secret weapons:

-Ivanka Trump
-Don Trump Jr
-Eric Trump

in the next 4 months they and other eloquent, along with Pam Bondi and "natural" speakers like Chris Christie, Newt Gingrich should be everywhere pushing Trump's agenda.

They speak so much better than Trump does when it comes to the (politically-correct) sensibilities of female voting public.

Don't get me wrong: Trump's leadership projection, vision & policy proposals are very solid. But his presentation is a joke: like watching a CARTOON CHARACTER with same old stale slogans and 5th grader level synthax.

Ivanka, Don Jr, Eric are so good, if you coach them up further, they can become political stars in their own right on their father's behalf.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64458801

Nope. Too much like nepotism.
 Quoting: PBJ11

If they play their cards right, Trumps could be like Kennedy's (in the best sense of JFK, RFK and Jon-Jon, NOT Teddy)

Who else is there to prevent the George Soros Democrat puppets from completing their hostile take-over of America? Jeff Sessions? Mike Pence? Ron Paul again?

Please, desperate times call for desperate measures. Trump-Ivanka or Trump-Don Jr

Pam Bondi?????????????????????? Are you crazy?????????????

She's the one who railroaded Zimmerman even though she knew damn well the state had no case!! She is evil in many ways.
 Quoting: Booger Cancer

See, this is why you're a loser, as are most "hard-core" Conservatives, Conspiracists and Republican "Purists".

You are so wrapped into your own warped sense of self-importance and lack of discipline, sense of perspective, moderation of any kind... you CAN'T SEE FOREST FOR THE TREE

Oh sure, Pam Bondi is "only" a potential political superstar- one that will BOTH help Trump undo his horrible problem with women AND bring in younger (horny) men into Trump's camp.

Translation: Pam Bondi if properly presented and coached up, could be that "home-run" VP pick that Trump needs for a political Upset of a Century in November. Thus saving America's future.

But what do you and a few other hard-core, purist morons concentrate on? Some irrelevant sociopath vigilante-wannabe George Zimmerman! Yeah, boo Pam Bondi because she dared to disagree with your bullshit knee-jerk defense of that fugly creep (in all fairness, Trayvon Martin was a piece-of-shit thug, but that's besides the point)

No wonder Republicans are dying and so is America. They have this truly GOLDEN chance to Take the Country Back from the impending Clinton-Soros Orwellian Dictoratorship.... and yet what do Republicans do? Engage in cannibilizing and petty feuds.

Libertarians hating on Trump. Tea Party hatin' on Moderate Establishment. Moderate Establishment hating on Trump. NeoCons hating on Trump. NeoNazi and Dylan Root types thinking they are doing Trump a favor by publically associating themselves with his campaining, thus poisoning it. Evangelicals hating on Atheist Republicans and vice Versa. South vs. North. East vs. West. Trump picking fights with Megyn Kelly, Glen Beck, George Will, Krauthammer and just about everybody else. Etc, etc et cetera.

All while Rome (America) burns.

. Keep it up. Choose your obscure, old ugly White Guy like Newt or Sessions or Corker for VP. The press and social media will quickly paint him as an extremist and Hillary will win in a landslide in November.

Idiots.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71954600

Frankly, I think it has to be a man. No matter what woman is chosen, msm will turn her into another Palin. Plus the fact that they'll say he only chose a woman to kiss up to the independent voters because he can't win on his own.

I'm a woman and right now I don't think I would have confidence in a woman. They're either too soft or total bitches usually when in a position of power.
 Quoting: PBJ11

But election are won by winning over MAINSTREAM, millions independents, undecideds, centrists, moderates... in swing-states.

Which is what hard-core posters like you don't understand. You may be a woman, but you are NOT like a normal, average, social-media obsessed Western female. They are shallow and vote on emotions.

And if Ivanka or Pam Bondi capture imagination and identity of enough of White Females in Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia even Michigan - Trump wins no matter what liberal MSM will throw at him.

And if Trump can't appeal to 10's of millions of those other voters who don't bother voting in Primaries... as you will have him do, he will LOSE.

And lose big-league. Believe me.

Pence is underwhelming, to say the least:

-NOT Woman
-NOT hot or fresh or interesting
-NOT Moderate (General Electorate = very different from hard-core Primary electorate)
-NOT from a swing-state
-NOT a legislative genius or Capitol Hill peacemaker
-NOT from Trump's trusted inner circle

PENCE is a POOR CHOICE, at best. Pence at first glance seems like an insider. Now the ticket for republicans should be called 2 OLD WHITE MEN.

I was expecting an out of nowhere great vice president pick by Trump. A vice president from the South or West and brings something to the ticket to balance out Trump. And enhance Trump.

My first pick is JUDGE JEANINE. My second pick would be impossible…BERNIE SANDERS…that would be such a contentious ticket…but it would give the PTB an absolute….screw u.

Again…Trump and Pence are the simple WONDER BREAD WHITE BOYS…very disappointed in Trump.

Trump NEEDS a DO OVER and comes up with a better more exciting choice…like SHERIFF JOE ARPAIO or Governor JAN BREWER.

DONALD TRUMP you need to show strength in your vice president pick. Be the FIRST DO OVER in election history.

If you're too lazy or too "purist" to bother voting, just say so. Don't use this BS VP pick

Christie is the only viable pick at this point to help win over Mainstream America. Yes, he is 5 years past his prime (in 2012, Christie would have smashed Obama, but af

Pam Bondi, Tulsi Gubbard, Ivanka would be high-reward, but also very high risk. Joni Ernst and Pam Bondi are being groomed to be GOP stars in 2020 to challenge President Hillary, so it's not clear they even want to be Trump's running mates (many in GOP believe Trump is gonna screw up and lose badly, a lost cause).

Rubio also wants a make-over for 2020 or 2024 run, and with all the bad blood between him and Donald, I don't see it working.

Who else is there? Pence isn't even popular in Indiana and way too Conservative for Mainstream America in the General. Jeff Sessions? Trump may need his advice and presence in the Senate, but Sessions is another unknown whose views are too extreme for most Americans. Another "Old Boring White Guy"??? Trump himself is too old, last think he needs is another geriatric as VP.

Gingrich is a formidable intellect with a ton of connections and Conservative bonafides, as well. However same problem as Jeff Sessions: "Old Unrelatable White Guy who wants to take away woman's rights and oppress minorities"... blablabla

David Patreaus - world's singular authority on Counter-terrorism, Counter-insurgency and the CIA - would have been a great choice, but Obama folks entrapped the General with a bimbo - very shrewd move by Obama operatives, I must say. Now Patreaus is not an option.

Bob Gates? Burned out.

Flynn? Nobody knows who he is.

Condoleeza? Forever tainted by Iraq War, 9/11 investigations and her claim to fame, the Cold War expertise, has been proven to be overrated bordering on obsolete (see: Putin, Vladimir)

Sarah Palin? Even she would not propose her candidacy because liberal MSM and Tina Fey would simply destroy her again ala 2008.

Ted Cruz? Hates Trump. A total untrusworthy psychopath creep.

Judge Jeanine? Come on, now. Even Ivanka is more realistic

Kasich? As last resort, I guess...

So

It's Christie or bust at this point. He is tough as nails, former prosecutor, managed to thrive in otherwise liberal shithole state like New Jersey. Former GOP darling. Destroyed Marco Rubio in a debate using just a couple of sentences. Can teach Trump how to be powerful without offending voting groups in the General. Friends with Donald's family for many years. Won't get in Trump's way once in the White House (unlike an ambitious snake like Ted Cruz who would have his ulterior agenda as VP)

Christie backed Trump back when the whole world was against Donald. Points for loyalty, too.

Even his names Chris, Christie = evokes Jesus Christ for some superstitious Southern voters, LOL

Guiliani? Even in 2008, he was already past his (political) prime: he couldn't even win in Florida against weakass candidates like Romney, Gingrich and Santorum -- even though Florida was heavily populated by elderly ex-New Yorkers who, you would think, would be very pro-Guiliani.

in 2016? Rudy is utterly irrelevant. Sure, he speaks well on TV and his support for Trump is welcomed, but that goes true for dozens of other has-beens.

Re: Trump's List of VP Picks - Corker, Christie, Ernst, Fallon, Gingrich, Pence, Sessions - WHAT DO YOU THINK? Thumbs up or down???
Pam Bondi. A tough cookie Florida Attorney-General. Critically important swing-state Florida. Endorsed Trump, resisting pressure from GOP big-wigs to ditch her friendship with him.

Too bad Pam Bondi doesn't have a hispanic-sounding last name, or at least a hispanic husband.

And unlike Sarah Palin, whom Katie Couric and the media turned into a big caricature liability for McCain in 2008... Pam Bondi can appeal to mainstream, moderate WOMEN voters, as well as making Undecided male voters horny.

Sure ideally, Trump needs someone from inside Washington to help him govern. But guess what? If Donald loses the election, it's all for nothing, anyway! That's why hee needs a risky Home-Run pick as a VP. Someone to excite and attract the mainstream majority of voters.

In other words: Newt Gingrich may have a wealth of Washington experience, but most people are repulsed by another fat, old White Guy (who dumped his wife when she got sick with cancer -- the media will spin it so that most American females are repulsed by Newt)

I like Chris Christie - even his "divinely-inspired" name sounds so close to Jesus Christ, so as it bring out the Evangelicals. But Christie is 5 years past his prime politically. His Bridgegate scandal hanging over his head. Just not appealing to Democratic voting females.

Gen. David Petraeus, both as a military commander and then CIA director, is a world-famous authority on terror and counter-insurgency -- which will become a huge issue in future elections. But Obama operatives destroyed General Petraeus because they knew he would be formidable opponent as a Republican VP in 2012 or 2016. Very shrewd, ruthless move by Obama. So DP is not an option for Trump anymore.

Gen. Stanley MacCrystal - see Patreaus. He doesn't seem to be interested in politics, may be being blackmailed over "war-crimes" committed in Iraq. Again, give credit to Obama's forward-thinking: his thugs took out potential threats and future competitors ahead of time. GOP could learn a lot from Obama's laser-focused ruthlessness.

Who else? Marco Rubio? 3-4 years ago? Yes, Little Marco was a superstar in the making. Again, Florida is key to Republicans to win the WHite House..... But he got badly exposed as a choker under pressure starting with that 2013 water-bottle embarassment on live TV. Plus Rubio and Trump spilt so much bad blood, called each other such nasty names --> can you see all those Clinton ads quoting Rubio as calling Trump "a con man, a fraud"....????

Def. Sec. Bob Gates? Widely respected on security by both parties, but he's burned-out emotionally and is happy teaching in a university

Colin Powell? 10-20 years ago, would have been a helluva Running Mate. Maybe even first ever black POTUS himself. But in 2003, neocons set him by having him do their dirty work selling the Iraq War at the UN. Colin Powell's reputation destroyed. He felt betrayed and has been hating on GOP ever since. Even endorsed Democrat Obama in 2008. Getting to be too old, too.

Condolizaa Rice? - like Powell, is forever tained by Bush and the Iraq War. Highly overrated in her "expertise" on Russia, to be honest. Meh.

Ted Cruz? Even more bad blood with Trump than Rubio. Plus unlike the good-looking, reasonable Marco who would have appeal to average General Election voter --- Ugly Ted is a viewed as a radical and repulsive by most Americans (outside of hardcore Conservative, religious Primary electorate, that is)

Scott Walker? Would be nice for Wisconsin, but his stock plummeted when he choked early in the Primaries. Same as Rick Perry both in 2012 and 2016 election cycles. Got exposed as a lightweight. Very unimpressive debates. Lacking in intellectual depth of Newt Gingrich, or the foreign policy knowledge. Trump already faces those accusations from the media, last thing he needs is a mediocre running mate like Walker (who was his enemy in Wisconsin primaries, let's not forget, and did lots of damage to GOP nominee's chances)

Jeb? Again, like Chris Christie and Rubio, he is a former heavyweight who is long past his prime. Totally hates Trump. And as electorate has shown, most people in America want NO part of anyone named 'Bush' -- fairly or not, that's just reality.

Kasich? Yes, Ohio is just as important as Florida. But this guy utterly lacks in charisma, and doesn't like Trump, either. I guess Donald could overlook some things -- and pick Kasich as a last resort. But it would just that: if all other options fail. Color me uninspired.

Scott Brown? Another decent fall-back option. But NOT a HR. Brown ran in a very liberal state, so he had to take positions which would alienate him to Conservative, religious, Tea Party and Libertarian voter groups --- all of whom already view Trump with a suspicious eye (and make no mistake about: Donald needs all those groups to turn out in November, or he's toast against Clinton-Soros Machine)

Rand Paul? Appeals to Millenial voters, but unfortunately not as much as Bernie Sanders does. And Bernie will endorse Hillary. Again, Rand Paul has the same problem as his father: he's seen as a kook by most people, so his General Election appeal is inherently limited.

Another thing: picking VP as only part of Trump's challenge. But unless he scrambles all his resources to build a MASSIVE GOTV infrastructure & ground-game - and also learns how to sound much more professional, avoiding saying some of the stupid, offensive shit as in the Primaries.... none of this will matter
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72490996

Now we know why Trump went with "boring unknown" Pence: he was tipped off that that fugly snake [Ted Cruz was planning a Coup.

Had Trump picked a Moderate, it would be far easier for NeverTrump and Ted Cruz - with Hillary's blessing of course - to mount a 3rd Party run as a "True Conservative".

Or at least would have made the RNC delegate revolt or mass walk-out, much easier.

Situation is still not good: While Pence helps shore Trump, he still has a YUUUUGE problem with Women, minority and younger voter groups. Also a lot of senior-citizens who like Kasich types because "he was so nice", they still are afraid of Trump being a bully.

Someone like Joni Earnst, Tulsi Gubbard, Pam Bondi would have softened and balanced out the ticket.

oh well

Pam Bondi is doing commentary on FOX.

She is gonna be speaking during this convention, too.

Clearly Trump couldn't use her as VP no matter how he wanted because then Ted Cruz people would be screaming how it's such a "ex-Democrat, RINO" ticket.

But she is clearly being groomed to challenge President Hillary in 2020 (as is Marco Rubio, Scott Walker and yes Ted Cruz, altough because of Ted Cruz ugly face, Beta cuck voice and extreme views,he can't do better than being Pam Bondi or Ivanka Trump's "Conservative VP)

it's pretty suspicious that someone as hot as Pam Bondi in her 50's, was unmarried, no kids when in her 20s, 30s, even 40s (Megyn Kelly had her kids in her 40s and very sexual, apparently")

Bondi lived in with a 60+ year old eyedoctor who looked like Caitlin Jenner!

I think with Hillary wielding such massive resources and an army of hackers, private-detectives and spies inside GOP - anything controversial or weird on Pam Bondi would come out. GOP was afraid of that and so Trump chose a safer "upstanding conservative" Mike Pence instead.

Pam Bondi spoke tonight.
Her accent is a bit too much, and I can definately see GOP was too uncomfortable that she would satirized too much ala Sarah Palin in 2008.
Plus, unlike a solid Conservative like Palin, many consider Pam Bondi to be a RINO/ex Democrat. Trump couldn't take that chance.

But those big tits and blonde cheerleader's face. Are her tits real?

And what's her deal? Lesbian? Or hypergamous?

More recent (Good) reasons for Gov. Mike Pence's selection as VP. Touched upon same reasons predicted in this very thread.

Thread: The 7/20/2016 RAIDERS OF THE RNC RIOTWATCH DAY 3 Thread and Drinking Game - Watch Live! (Page 84)

Difference is, whereas last Friday's Trump's selection of Pence seemed like a "meh" safe, fallback option... now looks like a very shrewd move by Donald to pre-empt that traitorous bitch Ted Cruz's stunt at the Convention.

Donald must have sensed Cruz was gonna pull something, and needed to shore up his Tea Party bonafides with Pence.
