Just went below -600

Considering the Dow was up over 230 points yesterday, in reality all that has been lost in the past 48 hours is only about 350 points, DOW is having closing rally currently at 573

I don't know, some folks are waking up and seeing the stocks they've been eyeing on a huge sale and they can't be sure they'll still be on sale on Monday so you never know how things will go.

Re: Predicting 7% drop in U.S. Stock Market TODAY
Based on the performance of the European stocks I hold, I'm expecting that the U.S. Stock Market will lose 7% of value today just in one day alone.

The classic definition of a "stock market crash" is when the market loses 10% or more of value in a one or two day trading period. If today is as bad as it seems it will be and it continues to slump on Monday, we could meet those criteria.

I'm not panicked- I'm fairly young and have the most important resource for riding something like this out: time. It will recover value, it's just a matter of when and how long.

For those of you with large 401k plans that are retiring in the next 5 years, well I hope you like eating beans-n-weenies from a can.

OP, Haven't you noticed that no one but government employees and teachers and cops and firefighters are retiring?

Everyone else has to work everyday forever. The late boomers have student loans up the wazoo from putting their kids through college and mortgages on homes that can't be sold right now, so those folks will be working forever, which is why, at their age, they're taking chance in the market.

Wrong. Long term is down. No, brexit was NOT priced in. Fucking inter and intra bank transactions are off the chart. Buddy on desk at jp morgan says they are shitting bricks and advising their top tier clients NOT to go long on this shit show. Says it is going to get much, much worse. Derivatives are going to go...

Well, we'll see.
I've been wrong before.

Down another 1% at Monday's market open...what does that bring us to now -5% overall since Brexit?
