Three examples: Quoting: Anonymous Coward 63805196 1. The NSA is violating our right against unreasonable searches. 2. During WW2, the government arrested thousands of Italian/Japanese/German American families, many of whom had been in the country for several generations, and at gunpoint forced them into internment camps, thus violating their right to a fair trial, among other things. 3. In 1798, President Adams signed into law the Sedition Act, under which Americans were fined and imprisoned for speaking negatively against Congress or the President. Men were imprisoned for merely publishing essays that were deemed "too critical" of Adams. Inspired by the then-recent French Revolution, the American public was increasingly calling for an overthrow of what they perceived to be a "tyrannical" federal government. In all three of these examples, the Second Amendment FAILED. The Founding Fathers were well-intentioned, but we have two centuries of hindsight over them. As it turns out, the tyrant's greatest fear is not "an armed populace." (Ask Hussein.) As the Arab Spring has demonstrated in no uncertain terms, the tyrant's greatest fear is public protest. Millions of citizens protesting a corrupt government is more powerful than any gun can ever be. Quit spamming this horseshit It's a bot, can't help it, just doing its job. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 39903149 After all, it is only the non-gun owners (dems) and TPTB (dems) calling for gun control. Well they're criminals themselves and birds of a feather flock together. Their platform might as well be "only guns for criminals". As far as the general public...they don't want to know... willful ignorance. They get mad if you try to tell them because once they know they become responsible. They would rather remain ignoranant in their bubble safe, stupid and lazy. |

Hell no. Texas won't comply, watch. No. By enacting harsher gun laws, we're not "disarming good people." We're stunting the black market. Proof: Nations that have harsher penalties for illegal firearms transactions have fewer shootings. Japan, which has by far the harshest laws, has an annual gun homicide rate in the single digits. America, which has extraordinarily lax gun laws because the right wing loonies think they're fucking Davy Crockett, has over 11,000 gun homicides annually. The TL;DR version: Tougher gun penalties = smaller black market. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 72372412 United States 06/14/2016 03:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Straight from the horses mouth: Quoting: N-M-L Jeh Johnson: Gun control is now a matter of homeland security Just days after the massacre in an Orlando nightclub left 49 people dead and 53 wounded, Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson on Tuesday said that gun control is now a critical element of protecting the U.S. homeland and keeping Americans safe. "We have to face the fact that meaningful gun control has to be a part of homeland security," Johnson said in an interview on "CBS This Morning." "We need to do something to minimize the opportunity for terrorists to get a gun in this country." On the issue of people on the no-fly list and various other lists being able to purchase a weapon in the U.S., Johnson said, "I believe that that's something that has to be addressed." [link to www.cbsnews.com] How about if the FBI would have done its job and flagged this asshole instead of wimping out because he was muz? Also, newsflash, he worked for a state licensed security company and would have been able to purchase a gun like any law enforcement officer would, regardless of laws and bans. Government fail. DHS can go fuck themselves. |

Lots of great information. It made me a better person for it. My son and I took the three day class along with hunters and service people... about 80-100 people in the class. I was the only person to make 100% on the test. My son was one of three who only missed one question. Everyone should consider firearm awareness/training classes. They are free... It's sad our communities are so blind to our great teaching resources and Not utilized. |
