A gun is a tool, what do you want one for and that will help determine the best one for you.

.308 bolt action or semi-auto is great for a sniper. With a scope you can drop them past 400 yards.

Ruger mini 14 is my personal preference. I guess everyone loves the black AR though. They are pretty nice.

Its too bad that 22-250 eats barrels for lunch because id love to have an AR chambered in toofitty.

Just a suggestion but she might want to train with iron sights before going scoped.

My top two choices for a woman's rifle would be Ruger 10/22 and an AR15

Ruger 10/22: Pros are small recoil, cheap ammo, and high mobility. Cons are little stopping power and ammo is, or at least was, scarce

AR 15 chambered in 5.56: Pros are little recoil, interchangeable magazines capable of 30 rounds of you live in a "free state", customizable to your preferences. Cons: big scary black ghost gun with banana clipazines (sarcasm...) Depending on customization, can be heavy. Cleaning process and breakdown takes a little learning process, but isn't too complicated. Also, it can malfunction. Learn to clear them.

Get iron sights as a backup, and a reflex or ACOG as a main scope.

get a vortex 1-6 power strike eagle scope.

best of everything, reddot, bullet drop recticle and a good ar under it. get real training and be good to go.

I want something fancy.

A medium priced pellet gun can handle zombies, ammo is cheap and a multi-pump with avoid running out of air.

Rifles don't kick like a shotgun. Not even close. Rifles have little recoil if chambered in a smaller round like .22 or .223/5.56. Can get more recoil when in .308 or 30-06. Stay with a .22 or .223/5.56

Your spot on man. Rugers gonna have more kick than an AR because the AR has a badass recoil spring system.

But as he said its more complicated to clean, and you have to keep it pretty damn clean. ARs are also a build platform, Mini 14 just needs a scope and a strap.

It doesnt have the aggressive look, but do some reading, the mini 14 is revered.

Cheap doesn't mean bad. However if you want something "fancy", get an AR and deck it out to your specs/liking...

Shotgun kicks more because it's throwing more mass and more powder, but a rifle does have some kick.

But as its been stated on here in another thread, its wiser to buy a 5.56 gun, than a .223. even though they are the "same" 5.56 is actually .222 Id get into it.. but its a whole thing.

just like 7.62x39 is actually .311

Fool's never been around a SCAR heavy, they rotate the earth. I had ear plugs and muffs and still lost some hearing for a few days. That is one nasty beast.

Yeah your gonna want something shorter for a boomstick, i think 18.5 is the shortest legally.

Honestly man, you should look at a 870 express 20 gauge with slugs and a mag extension if you tossing cash around. You would be really surprised how light and how much power your packing.
