An Ooltewah man who shot and killed what he thought was a middle-of-the-night prowler -- actually a 72-year-old man with advanced Alzheimer's disease -- Wednesday in Walker County, Ga., hasn't been charged but he might be later, authorities said.

The slain man, Ronald Westbrook, had walked about 3 miles to the shooting scene from his home on Carlock Circle, Sheriff Steve Wilson said at a Wednesday afternoon news conference. When Westbrook was shot, he was clutching letters he had taken from a mailbox on Marbletop Road, where he had lived previously, the sheriff said.

As another poster just wrote, "better security lighting" might have prevented this. He would have seen that they were in uniform and hopefully would have quickly lowered his gun. Or maybe would have stayed inside.

No, you're right. It doesn't fit the guntard agenda. It fits the "THIS IS WHY WE HAVE THE SECOND AMENDMENT" agenda. It will not be long before cops that do this will be found, hopefully dismemebered rotting in the street. It shows:

A) How much we do and will need the second amendment to keep these police state criminals from slaughtering us.

The fact is he was murdered because he was fooled for a moment as he thought the police were the "good guys". If you think the police are the "good guys" you're already down one. They are the ones they'll use against the populace. If they don't hold the shooter accountable, this is nothing but government sanctioned slaughter. The system will never punish itself. This murderer will go free unless the people take it in hand. Remember, the "Just Us" system will put on a production but the theatre will end with the media and the populace satisfied but the victim never vindicated nor the family compensated.

Don't worry folks. After the cops finish up their investigation of themselves the officer will be cleared of any wrong-doing and the shooting will be ruled "justifiable". The cops are always there to protect and serve themselves.

I think this all started after WW2. We had so many ex-military guys coming into the police departments, and they tended to see things along the lines of their military training. Still, many of the officers learned their stuff on the streets alongside experienced officers. Eventually though the military viewpoint has taken over, and now they just gun you down.

I still remember the old cops. They had a tough and thankless job, but they were just regular guys. They were mostly trying to keep the peace. They would give you a break if they could. They would shoot you, but only if they had to. And they weren't much afraid of you, because they thought they could take you. Now the cops seem like scared kids with guns.

The euro and pound will hyperinflate within a few years when banks and the PIIGS begin to fail and the BOE and ECB print into overdrive. When that happens the benefits will stop flowing, all of them, because the money won't be there.

What do you think will occur when the Muslims and gypsies etc. in London get cut off? No jobs, no benefits and no way to feed themselves. You think violent home invasions, riots and robberies won't happen? The euros will find out very quickly why they need the ability to defend themselves. The police won't be there to help you. Reality will kick them in the face and western Europe will be no safer than Yugoslavia during their civil war. It's not paranoia. It's simple math regarding what central banks can and can't do to fix a debt issue of this scale.
