Re: Everybody knows that the janitor is the cornerstone
Well mosquitos...are probably more scary in the real world, carrying malaria and all sorts of icky illnesses as they do, and being more 'tangibly real'.

But...I mean in essence have you ever met a person who just sucks the life right out of you, or hogs all the attention or energy in a room, or somehow manages to just enchant others in the weirdest way, making them make irrational decisions, mesmerizing them, seducing them, or even just compelling them to make compulsive and unnecessary purchases?

Maybe those examples aren't as traditionally 'scary' as the horror roots of the myth, but they are certainly quite real, interesting examples of predatory energy workers.
 Quoting: K-lis

Yeah, i've met some of those types.
Funny thing, the "predatory" aspect was well hidden behind a "victim" mask.

:-)
 Quoting: S__

That can be an even more effective way to suck people's energy out, by playing on their social contract to provide sympathy. That kind of behavior becomes transparent when abused though. I have little patience for that sort of thing, you see it a lot on glp.
 Quoting: K-lis

What does "playing on their social contract" mean ?

And yes, this site is quite a psycho/logical train camp :-)
Maybe those involved in the K.D. experiment will consider testing the psycho abilities of the subject in the GLP arena.

chuckle
 Quoting: S__

I am sure such testing would occur prior to their getting their hands on him or her or it.

What I mean is, in society, we are obligated to extend our sympathies to people when they tell us about the bad things that have happened to them. Sometimes this gets a little awkward when we don't know the person very well, but nonetheless we have the social conditioning to recognize when we ought to draw from our 'sympathy bank' and give people our ear, pity, energy, etc. This is doubly the case when we are more than mere acquaintances, like friends or family.

Some people get addicting to procuring this resource from friends and family and anyone or everyone else possible and become like drug addicts, seeking their next 'sympathy hit'. they tend to play the victim over and over or continually put themselves in situations where they'll be taken advantage of so they can procure more sympathy from others.

Sorry.
It was a cold tech joke.

I realized that maybe you're speaking about those shootings in Orlando FLA.
If so, mea culpa. It wasn't the best line in regards to the events.

And no offense taken... I've had a dozen (perceived) death threats in the last few weeks and helicopters & private jets flying in all weekend... I'm right here at home with My Ak & my Glock 19, lol. It'd be a really bad time, this is the Gunshine State and I know all my neighbors better than all my neighbors.

So...

There are no chances for a rabid rabbit to trespass your property and try to chew your ears ?

Sigh...
We'll have to call the ninja fox then :-)

lol, something like that. I live a mile from downtown and a just further from the executive airport... Like I said, the air traffic is constant, like NBA All Star Weekend a few years ago, the same weekend when Trayvon got shot. While I don't think anyone is coming to harm or kidnap me, who am I to disabuse someone of a fair confrontation?

And this isn't for sympathy, all is well. Gotta keep everything clean and the conversation just happened to find it's way there. Also, word on the street is, there were 3 shooters, not 1 Muslim.

Ok.

I understand now.
Unfortunately for society contracts and those gaining a profit from them, i don't align to such an obligation.

I do consider compassion having its place at needed times, but emotional social conditioning stands better within empaths than me.

On another layer derived from this e-motive discussion, we all feed energetically on each other, symbiotically.
Is just a natural trait to have predators and preys in this field, too.

I have heard that, but there's no way the media will deviate from their story at this point, so who knows what the truth is.

Certainly, I know that manchurian candidates can be made. And, well, they have been going on the news saying how this guy must have been "radicalized" within a week, extremely quickly, and taught how to use his automatic weapon, because for him to load it so fast he must have had training.

I wonder how he was "radicalized".

I have some ideas.

Normally the exchange of energy is symbiotic, part of the functioning of a healthy society which lives on the strength of social ties between members.

But there will always be those who live in the niches and take advantage of people's inherent trust, and the fact that "most of us" (really, the vast majority) are relatively good people.

If so, i'll consider having you kidnapped for a week.
I always wanted to learn how to step dance on Prince song Kiss, hahaha.

Regarding the shootings...

Word off some street(s):
There are more deaths occurring due to medical conditions derived from stress built under societal pressure than due to planned (by whomever) shootings.
However, i see no "big talks" about that in media or internet social platforms.
As long as is a silent imploding death and not a noisy explosive one, i suppose it doesn't matter...

Well, I do know a little bit from experience, I used to be somewhat of a downtown socialite being that I was a bouncer @ Cyberzone, the infamous late 90's Studio 54 of the South, and a few other clubs after...

"Pulse" used to be an Italian restaurant that had "club" nights, an old roomate used to bounce there as well before it became a gay club, it was 3 maybe 4 small rooms of which using a rifle to clear out would be silly because the rooms were so small, not to mention, 300 people wouldn't fit in there.

.223 also doesn't penetrate walls very well, and it was touted as one of the oldest gay clubs when in reality it was one of the newest, with 2 other staples (for gay clubers) within 2 or 3 miles and there for at least 25 years, with much higher concentration of potential targets.

The patrons of this club would have been a very young, naive impressionable clubbers who were probably low value, and if someone were to drive from Ft Pierce, they'd be better off just saving an hour of driving & a bunch of tolls by going to West Palm Beach, Ft Lauderdale or even Miami.

Well, it's the horror of the act that really 'gets' people. We aren't as shocked, as humans, when disease, illness, or weather catastrophe kills people - but when people kill other people - something about that really shakes us at our core.

Lots of questions come up - because people have motives, and are not indiscriminate, like heart disease, cancer or that kind of thing - someone so full of hate they were willing to shoot hundreds of rounds into the bodies of innocent people just for having a different preference of sexuality?

I think it begets a great deal of attention because we can't help but try and somehow make sense of the intentions of our fellow man when they commit unspeakable acts. We can mourn the death of a person due to accident, illness, or injury - but something about homicide in any of its various forums provokes, in us, something much more raw, and complex.

Sometimes it looks like someone wants to wash feelings away from people by training them systematically through facing the violent death shock.
Sort of immunizing them emotionally while also playing some political cards.

^ Or pay attention to the right hand (being killed violently) while the left hand kills you softly.

Good thing humans have only two hands.

Can you imagine what a mess would be if they would have 6 hands like some vedic gods ?

:-)

Was nice talking to you and K-L.
Thank you both for this and for the smiles, and have a beautiful night ahead.

lol, something like that.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53306024

Can you step dance ?

If so, i'll consider having you kidnapped for a week.
I always wanted to learn how to step dance on Prince song Kiss, hahaha.

Regarding the shootings...

Word off some street(s):
 Quoting: S__

I can't dance at all... too stiff of an attitude to let it all hang out like that, my father however was in a Country music video & danced competition. I could barely stand the music/atmosphere.

And the rest of what you said... don't think I could agree more. Exactly right. Diet Coke if you have health concerns, lol.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53306024

Oh lord...
Even that talking tree in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie could dance ! What's wrong with you ? Are you an olive tree ?
chuckle

And thank you, but i prefer a glass of cold water to any sort of Coke or whatever soda sweets products out there.
:-)

lol, it is very sad but I do dance occasionally when no one is looking and I sing to my pets when no one can hear (songs I don't know the words to with my own words to my pets)... When it comes I don't fight it, but, it doesn't come often, other than feeding time.

I'm a water or coffee guy myself too.

I wish I didn't have a gag reflex for water, I'd be so much healthier .
I've been trying to train myself not to hate water, but the revulsion instinct is strong.

 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 53306024

So what does that lead you to believe ? That it was sort of a spur of the moment impulse thing? All in all it's an extremely weird story. I don't think it's a 'hoax' - I don't buy that - but what the hell set this guy off, sounds like a bomb in his freaking brain, for real.
 Quoting: K-lis

It can't be spur of the moment. This whole week my friend has been wanting me to come to his first drag queen show that is tonight at a popular gay club which I couldn't go to which I find a strange coincidence as I have never been asked to go to something like that before.

There was also the gay pride parade here in LA where a guy just so happened to be intercepted by the police and tons of explosives found in his car. Apparently there is absolutely no direct connection to the event in Orlando, but it seems exceedingly strange.

If you need, add sugar (lemonade)

Lemons work wonders.

I like sugar in my coffee, but I drink water only with lemons.

Buy "Real Lemon Juice", no tangible benefit from squeezing it fresh/organic.

Sidenote, the oldtimers at the bar would swirl a lemon slice around the top their glass to kill off any potential bacteria on the glass.
