TEXAS BULLION DEPOSITORY: GOLD BACKED BANK to be COMPLETED Next year
TEXAS BULLION DEPOSITORY: GOLD BACKED BANK to be COMPLETED Next year
The Daily Sheeple ^ | May 18, 2016 | Joshua Krause

Last year Texas Governor Gregg Abbott signed HB 483, allowing the creation of the Texas Gold Depository. “With the passage of this bill, the Texas Bullion Depository will become the first state-level facility of its kind in the nation, increasing the security and stability of our gold reserves and keeping taxpayer funds from leaving Texas to pay for fees to store gold in facilities outside our state,” he said last June.

This gold bank would allow Texas to recover the gold that it has stored in New York vaults, and give Texan citizens and institutions a chance to store their gold in the facility, and open checking and savings accounts that would be valued in gold rather than dollars. This even opens the possibility of making gold transactions electronically for the very first time.

Very interesting comments at :

Tennessee has voted to do the same thing. Others will follow.

Maybe this is why Abbot is so confident in telling the Feds where to stick obungholes decrees for pervision. Texas and other states will just stop sending money back to the Feds. Only a portion of the taxes collected in the heartland are returned. A disporportionate amount goes to the big population centers where the majority of takers live.

Starve the Fed.

Careful - the last government to try that in opposition to the Feds was Libya.

If democrats are in power at the time of a financial collapse I believe they would outlaw the possession of gold and silver in any significant amount and make it a crime to buy, sell or barter with gold and silver.
Been there, done that. FDR's EO 6012

The gold being held in New York vaults will never be seen again. Probably sold to China a long time ago. They'll have to settle for an IOU.

That's horrific news if true. Gold backed money is NOT the answer we need. That is just as bad as what we have now. It's not what backs the money supply that is important but rather who controls the QUANTITY. We need gov't issued money with the gov't controlling the quantity with no debt service attached. Do that and this economy will turn around in less than one year!

If that is true, it likely means there's a few very rich Texans that want to control the TX money supply should we secede. They aren't stupid, they see how much money The Fed rakes in!

Gold back money will accomplish what you just asked for , you freaking MORON.

Man, people here in America are so damn STUPID ! ! !

And by the way. There ain't much gold left for anyone to take delivery of, let alone the full amount they're entitled to. So if your wanting delivery next year, get ready for an IOU instead of physical gold. The banksters have stole it all.

Absolutely right. China now owns the building on the other end of the tunnel that connects to the NY federal reserve vaults.

One more time. IF YOU CAN'T HOLD IT IN YOUR HANDS, YOU DON'T OWN IT. 2018 is rapidly approaching. A lot of experts believe we won't make it through the rest of the year before the big one. I believe sometime next year.

But one thing is for sure. The moment you see the collapse start to happen, it will be too late for you to get everything into gold and silver.

We all know what happened to Libya afteer they tried to create a gold backed currency. This has the potential to be considered a National Security threat. The premise being that the Federal Government would consider these steps a pre-cursor to State Sovereignty and then Secession.

Oops, it's "The Secret of Oz". This will prove that it is not important what backs the money supply but rather who controls the quantity. End your ignorance and watch.

I think this is a great idea! Texas have nearly $1 billion in Gold under N.Y. and this move would at least prove its existance and to bring it home!

You cant damn something that is voluntary, dont like this texas gold money than use something else, thats the beauty of competiting curriences, ron paul advocated this. The better will likely rise to the top, but the feds use all sorts of tools to keep gold and silver from being used as money, so support the states right to do as they please. Let new york try backing their notes with something like bubble gum I dont care

Re: TEXAS BULLION DEPOSITORY: GOLD BACKED BANK to be COMPLETED Next year
We are not talking about returning to a gold standard here, just storing Texas gold back in Texas!

First, the depository will cost taxpayers nothing. Zero. The fact that no fiscal note was attached to the bill was the primary reason the bill passed almost unanimously in the House (140-1) and Senate (29-2).

Furthermore, the depository will generate revenue for the state from operations. Since the facility will be funded privately, an additional $20-plus million will be invested into the Texas market, along with at least 50 new jobs.
