It is the other way around. The medical units are assigned to support battalions, which are then assigned to the Stryker teams.

So yes, there are medical units working under the command of the Stryker units and as a part of the overall force, since they are all infantry units.

The medics are trigger pullers until somebody gets hurt. My youngest daughter is a 68W medic assigned to a support unit within a Stryker unit at Fort Lewis, WA. And they do have medic/evac Strykers. Daughter intel, I guess.

Continuity of government drills? Proximity to Cal State may mean technology-related aspect.

I'm just outside of Fresno. No intel here, but I'm surprised at how many GLPers are local to this area.

I am a long time resident, been in this house 15 years. Prior had lived in Tulare and Fresno (1983). Good to meet you. I hope we can keep in touch since there seems to be no one worried but me. Though the people I talk to have the religion thing going on and think everything will be okay as long as they go to heaven.

The 296th Support Battalion would include units providing medical, comms, meal services, HQ setup, temp barracks, etc. So the medic and comms teams, for example, might be assigned to Strykers within the unit, but the Strykers would not be assigned to their individual medic or comms units, staying under command of the 1st SBCT.
