The more I think about it, the more I see OR and WA being the big deciding factor.

Well that gives me chills as, for the first time in my life, I'm attempting to become a Republican Oregon Delegate for Trump! I would love to be part of the delegation that casts the VOTES THAT PUT TRUMP OVER THE TOP ON THE FIRST BALLOT IN CLEVELAND!!!!

What are the steps to become one?

Every state is different. In Oregon, I have to email the Oregon Republican headquarters to request an application to become a delegate. They will not send me that application until the Oregon Primary is finished on May 17th. At that point, they email me and I fill it out. Then I have to go to the Oregon State Convention and convince the ORegon Republican insiders to vote for me and seat me as a Trump delegate. If I get enough votes, I head to Cleveland in July as a seated Trump delegate for Oregon.

I'm a bit concerned about the west coast, and particularly Oregon and Washington. Have any polls attempted to get a sense there?
They seem quite liberal out there, so I would be surprised.
Of course, I am thinking of the cities, Portland, Seattle.

Yes, indeed. If I am blessed enough to get that far, I will try to bring my iPad and film as much as possible, as a "on the scene" journalist, showing an inside experience of the convention as it unfolds. Should be exciting and awesome!

I live in downtown Portland and this city is flooded with Bernie supporters. But in the closed Republican primary next month, I imagine Trump will do well as their is a strong libertarian streak in the Oregon Republican party.

Good to see Washington is also closed. Lot of Bernie supporters there too.

Well it prevents Bernie voters from crossing lines and voting against Trump. I'm sure that was done in Wisconsin.

Luckily the big concentration republicans in OR and WA are in the more populated western areas of the states - and they're not as conservative as the ones farther east.

I can tell you in the 2012 Republican Closed Primary, Ron Paul got a HUGE chunk of the vote, very close to Romney and the only reason Romney got so much was because he was already the presumptive nominee by then.

That's good to keep in mind.

Especially since Trump has many of the same stances as on Ron Paul, particularly with no being the policeman of the world and taking care of the USA first. Although Trump is even smarter than Paul because Trump will make these other countries pay if they want our protection.

That will appeal to a lot of Oregon Republicans for the primary.

One recent poll showing 44% of voters in West Virginia support Trump.

If you go through some of the other polls you'll see Trump at 40% in Montana, New Mexico 39%.

Trump is climbing in PA (at 45%) and he took a jump in Oregon today to 41%.
