Panama Papers finger China's president

Two more Chinese political leaders were found to have links to offshore firms, according to reports on the documents leaked from Panamanian law firm Mossack Fonseca.

Zhang Gaoli and Liu Yunshan, two members of China’s Politburo Standing Committee — the Communist Party’s highest decision making body — have relatives who are listed as directors or shareholders in firms located in the known tax haven country, according to the BBC.

The organization that worked on the release the ICIJ, was instrumental in releasing information on Chinese political figures who were in opposition to still powerful ex-dictator Jiang Zemin while the Communist Party was deliberating on the choice of its new headman a couple of years ago. The release of this damaging information about the ill gotten fortunes of high Chinese officials conveniently omitted to mention the vast fortune amassed by the Jiang family.

Jiamg Zemin was the first Chinese leader to bring China into Wall Street markets, and has close ties with the New York Times as well as the New York financial elites.

Jiang also has ties with the Bush family, who helped him advance his goal of changing China as a manufacturing nation to China as an investing nation.

At present, most of Jiang's political machine in China has been dismantled in a Party wide purge of Jiang cronies by Xi Jinping.

And whos territory was most of that money moved to... Now call me whatever you like, but I can't see Britain shooting itself in the foot and losing that cash to other tax havens, and certainly not annoy China given how hard Britain is trying to woo China, at the moment they are risking the entire British steel industry to keep keep China happy... so it should be interesting to watch this evolve..
