96) Lake Baikal and Lake Tahoe

[link to en.m.wikipedia.org (secure)]

Lake Baikal is the largest freshwater lake by volume in the world, containing roughly 20% of the world's unfrozen surface fresh water.[4][5] With a maximum depth of 1,642 m (5,387 ft),[1] Baikal is the world's deepest lake.[6] It is considered among the world's clearest[7] lakes and is considered the world's oldest lake[8] — at 25 million years.[9] It is the seventh-largest lake in the world by surface area. With 23,615.39 km3 (5,700 cu mi) of fresh water,[1] it contains more water than all the North American Great Lakes combined.[10]

-----------------------

What is going on with Lake Baikal?
People report weird things happening, some claim they see UFOs and whatnot.

Thank You.
 Quoting: Aestland 1795948

There exists an automated installation within the hills next to the lake, it sends out probes from time to time. It's man made and at least 33.000 years old.
 Quoting: Alterwelt

----------------------------
Hello Alterwelt, I would ask about Lake Tahoe on the California/Nevada border.

I am referring to [link to ww2.kqed.org] when I ask these questions.

Jacques Cousteau went scuba diving there and quoting the article: He emerged from the water shaken, but not with cold. He said, “The world is not ready for what I have seen.”

It is rumored that there are many bodies preserved in this very deep body of water.

1. Did he see something more than dead bodies from the 1920's to 40's?

2. Is there anything preserved there from the 1st or 2nd civ?

3. You have mentioned earlier that Lake Baikal had ancient technology still active in the surrounding hills, is there such technology at Lake Tahoe?
 Quoting: Just a Moranic Tard

There is a city approximately a mile into the lake, it is an old pre-glacial coastline, the city itself is well preserved, the size and odd shapes of it's structures made the satelite imaging difficult but when viewed close by it is unmistakably artificial and well preserved.

The city itself is not from the highest periods being approximately 25.000 years old, built in a period when Americas saw great waves of migrations and entire new nations established within years.

Population centers.

What was the total population of people on the world just before the end of the Younger Dryas?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 54322626

The nominal size of the global populace is guesswork.

The most populated region was in Africa, it covered Egypt, Syria, Israel and Palestine along with parts of Iran and Iraq. A census run some 13.600 years ago which survived intact carved into a rust proof alloy pillar shows a tally of 18 milion souls across the entire region.

In North America the area of present day New York was one hub of urban civilization with half a milion people spread across settlements, Cuba and the shoes of the Gulf of Mexico hosted another population of almost a million.

Peru and Bolivia hosted civilizations descended from an earlier age, they've numbered at least three milion souls.

In Europe the five great cities that sprawled on the now sunken lowlands of what is currently the british islands hosted a population of two milion souls.

The great mining complex of France and Spain that fed the old world with resources hosted approximately a million souls stretched across present day France, Spain and Portugal.

Who built Gobekli Tepe and for what purpose? Why was it intentionally buried?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 33707102

Gobekli Tepe was an administrative center of a local civilization. It was built some 10.000 years ago.

They buried it because they were losing a war with a neighbouring kingdom and it was not in their culture to destroy their heritage - instead they preserved it with sand and fled the area becoming nomadic and gradually losing what civilized state of mind they possesed.

What was the machine meant for and who was building it? Did they succeed with this machine, elsewhere?
 Quoting: U3

It was meant to create a kinetic shield for a city below. No, the entire region was inundated and all of its inhabitants were killed shortly after. Prior to that event the entire region was a vast construction site and there were urban centers all around. Their ruins are still scattered across the mountains.

What have you learned about Machu Picchu?
 Quoting: U3

It's a site to shelter the Incas from the Spanish, built in a deliberate proximity to a much older site from a precursor civilization that the Incas considered sacred.
 Quoting: Alterwelt

Great thread! I have some questions if I may:

1) Who were the people who built and inhabited Teotihuacan? Why did they abandon the city?
 Quoting: Bluefool 55542147

A precursor to the Toltec civilization. Stone age in technology but with a large population and a significant level of social organization.

It was built some 1600 years ago.

2) Who built Machu Picchu and for what purpose?
 Quoting: Bluefool 55542147

The Incas around 1450. It was built for the priests and elites who worshipped a much older site in the vicinity. Later it was used as a safe haven during the spanish conquest.
3) Did the ancient Mexicans and South Americans who built these places use the same levitation technology as the Egyptians used for the pyramids?
 Quoting: Bluefool 55542147

No, both cities you listed have been built within the last 1600 and 500 years using fairly primivite methods.
4) How did the peoples of 32,000 years ago destroy each other (I know war, but do you have more details)? Are there any remains, physical or cultural, of their civilisations?
 Quoting: Bluefool 55542147

They used weapons of mass destruction, kinetic and energy in nature, they destabilised the geology of the planet and poisoned the ecosystem for a long period of time, the loss of life and infrastructure was such that survivors reverted to stone age levels.

Yes there are artifacts left over from that period.
5) Has the solar system undergone any changes during the period of your viewing or are the planets still in the same orbits now as they were 150,000-200,000 years ago?
 Quoting: Bluefool 55542147

No major changes.

Who fought in the battle of Tollense around 1,300 B.C.? What sides were involved?
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71954428

Tribes from Lumnezia launched a significant assault on the germanic tribes of the region, this was where the final battle of this war took place, at least six thousand participants were present on both sides.
 Quoting: Alterwelt

------------
[link to en.m.wikipedia.org (secure)]

As initially reported in the German media, human remains from the Bronze Age were found in the region named "Tollensetal" (Tollense valley) since 1997.[1] Many individuals showed signs of serious injury and violent death, leading to a hypothesis of some kind of inter-tribal conflict. Starting in 2008, archaeological study of the site zeroed in on an area of two square kilometers. Hundreds of bone fragments belonging to a very large number of persons have since been discovered along with further corroborating evidence of battle; current estimates indicate that perhaps 4000 warriors took place in a battle on the site. These findings were possible due to the preservation of the former swamp ground and the fact that the Tollense has never really changed its course. Since the population density then was about 5 people per square kilometer, this would have been the most significant battle in Bronze Age period Germany yet to be discovered. Moreover, the Tollense valley is so far the largest excavated battle site of this age anywhere in the world.[2] Further investigation of the site took place in the years 2010 to 2015.

Lumnezia is a valley region and a municipality in the district of Surselva in the Swiss of canton of Graubünden. The former municipalities of Cumbel, Degen, Lumbrein, Morissen, Suraua, Vignogn, Vella, and Vrin merged on 1 January 2013 into the new municipality of Lumnezia.[3] It covers the (Val) Lumnezia (Romansh, German: Lugnez), a Swiss high alpine valley. Its upper regions are among the most remote areas in the Swiss Alps. The official language is Romansh Sursilvan.

Neolithic and Megalithic Period

In the neolithic times the valley was probably inhabited by Chalcolithic (Copper-stone Age) Europeans. Witness to this is the Crap da Treis Siarps, the Three Snakes Stone, a remnant of a Neolithic or Bronze Age Megalithic monument. It can be found at the slope of the Glogn gorge east of the Parish church of Pleif. Although the other megaliths of this monument have substantially weathered, the Three Snakes Stone is well preserved. It has three snakes and a half moon engraved, hinting at its use as either a burial site or as an archaeoastronomical site.
