The past only exists in your mind and in data.

The only thing that actually exists is this eternal moment of now.

actually, by the time you experience the present, it is already the past. think about it....in actuality, there is never a present.....

Being conscience or being aware that you exit In the universe is the present. Your can't travel back in time. Those are only memories in our minds. The present moment is the only reality we live in.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 61183626

I would fix that by saying "Being aware that you have a beginning and an end (being self aware) makes the present meaningful."

The past exists.. If it didn't, how could we be said to "have a past"?

What makes it possible to have a past?
 Quoting: cecropia

The memories in our head, but what if your memories were erased or forgotten. So in essence the past means nothing only the moment. If one could travel back in time and rewrite history. But not until then.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 61183626

I didn't say that "the past" was a thing in actuality, or a "real thing". But we do have A PAST, in the form of possibilities, same as the future.
 Quoting: cecropia

Your past does not dictate your possibilities or outcomes. I mean if we have a past event that keeps staying in our lives then that event is in the present. But I could win the lotto tomorrow and that would change my future. The past basically has little bearing on you. Unless you keep bringing it into your present life. That's why the saying goes 'yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, and now is a present from God. So live in the now.

you aren't accounting for the processing time it takes humans. you must think on a quantum level. when you do, you realize the delay from the actual present is significant on a quantum scale.

so, when you see a thing, you are always seeing it in the immediate past because of the time it takes for light to travel to the eye and for the eye and brain to then process the image....time to experience the image does not equal the time that it actually occurred. this is true for all our senses....really slow, actually. all our experienced presents are truly immediate pasts....

Sort of.

I'm not sure how one reconciles what happens at harvest with a fixed "history". It is not possible because everything is destroyed after the day of consolation (i.e. the day of judgment/wrath).

Nothing new under the sun. Read Ecclesiastes. Sure you could say they were being figurative but most figurative things in the bible are taken literally (Zion and Jerusalem being physical places) and most literal things are taken figuratively (like all of descriptions of the fiery trial in Psalms, Proverbs, and JOB). I suppose it's hard to understand how the events of JOB can be literal and how the HOLY SPIRIT indwelling doesn't come and go and isn't a figurative "fire for the Lord". No no no, it's literally your flesh persecuting the HOLY SPIRIT inside you.

Those with ears hear this. Those without get those ears.

What I'm saying is that it's impossible that people between Jesus and now haven't gotten the HOLY SPIRIT and more impossible that they haven't completed the fiery trial which results in the destruction of the "material" world. Why is it impossible? Because if there was less technology, less distractions (tv, food, cars, etc) it would be much easier to complete; also the gospel would be more removed now. THERE IS NO WAY in 2000 years that someone couldn't get the HOLY SPIRIT (the figurative Jacob) and finish their fiery trial (resulting in harvest/rapture then wrath).

So history as it's portrayed cannot be real; history is more figurative. ;)

Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.

Breaking out of the conventional Newtonian concept of a single universal time is one of the great advances of modern relativity theory, describing the inner dynamics of space-time continuum. As these concepts continue to emerge and be understood by our best and brightest, it is as if humanity is breaking free of old time shackles.

I am not a scientist and do not understand scientific language. But psychically, I can receive words or impressions. I have heard "drivetrain" and "torsion event". Does anyone know if these can be applied to the theory of relativity?

"The ability to change the course of time
during the process of motion represents one of the most fundamental properties of physical system which can
be referred to as "the feeling of time". Apparently, "the feeling of time", internally inherent in any form of matter
(both particles and fields) by the very nature of things underlies the specific time structure of the material
world..." from Time, what is it? Dynamical Properties of Time

To created beings, on/in/around this planet, i think the past is not accessible as a changeable reality. For God or any being that God has entrusted to be able to traverse time forwards backwards, sideways, dimensionally whatever, then the past is malleable, imo(ie certain arch angels for example).
Lets take the berenstain/berenstein controversy as a time change for a substantial number of people.

cheers
And the LORD spake, saying, "First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin, then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less.

I am an evil giraffe, and I shall eat more leaves from this tree than perhaps I should, so that other giraffes may die.
