The tall glowing beings

There has only been one time ever in my life where I physically saw something paranormal. I have experienced other things that I don’t really know how to explain, but this was the one and only time where I actually SAW something like this.

It was in 2002 and I was 17. I was in the car with my boyfriend at the time and we were driving in a very rural area of Illinois. It was around midnight or 1 AM and we were on a country road where it was very dark, no other cars, just corn and soy bean fields.

In the middle of the darkness, standing on the side of the road was a group of 5 or 6 beings. The were very tall, probably 7-8 feet. I guess that because they were taller than the full grown corn that was growing in the field behind them. They were human form, but were glowing with a bright golden colored light. It wasn’t the kind of light that projects out like a flashlight and reflects off of things, but a bright glow.

We drove past them going around 60 mph. We both saw them, but for some reason weren’t immediately surprised or alarmed. It took about 15 seconds before we both, at the same moment, turned to each other and said “did you see that?”. We decided to drive back that direction and look for them, but we couldn’t find any sign of them. At the time, we just sat in the car and stared at the corn field, waiting for something. We eventually left. We didn’t make a big deal about it and we didn’t tell anyone. I don’t know why. It was years later before I started to really wonder what that was.

Has anyone had an experience like this? What do you think it was?
