Yes, eating clean safe food is truly a right. These huge companies package dangerous food and sell it to consumers. Lets insist that we have the right to know what we are eating.

I don't know why these corporations are getting their collective panties in a twist over this. Most of the sheeple will continue eating their shitty food anyway whether it's GMO or not.

Just make sure of what you are eating. GMO is not very good for us humans.

Who pays for it is not important.

Hm I'm afraid you might be right but all that matters is that health-conscious people are able to know what they are eating.

That is right calx. Any of us who care, should have the right to know where our food came from.

I remember a few years ago when people were getting sick from tomatoes that came from Mexico.

It turned out that the tomatoes had been irrigated with UN filtered human feces.

China does the same thing with garlic and other vegetables! I saw a documentary about it. You know what's nuts? All the regular McCormick-type brands in stores get their spices from China, but the Mexican spices in the little bags come from the USA!! I couldn't believe it when I read the labels years ago.

I believe we should take it a step further. I think all companies who tried or are trying to block GMO's labeling should be boycotted. They cannot be trusted, so why would you ever want to buy anything from them anyway? It is clear that they would prefer to poison you so put them out of business.

I buy GMO watermelons. No seeds and they are yummy. But, there has to be some discretion.

I can vouch for that. You'd be amazed how many items on the shelves here in Panama say 'made in the USA'. Not a whole lot of stuff for sale here is made in China.

I always found it odd that it's easier to get products made in the USA in Latin America than it is to get them in the US.

Honestly I'm really not sure where they stand on GMOs (I believe they are against - a lot of Asian countries consider it a major crime to screw with their rice at least) as the documentary was mostly about their farming/fish farming methods. It's ugly. Tilapia fish are fed human feces.

Are you sure the watermelons are GMO? Seedless ones have been around a long time just due to normal experimentation.

Not sure if this information is correct or not but I think the stickers on fruits and vegetables can tell you the farming method. If the number starts with a 3 or 4 it's grown normally. 8 is GMO and 9 is organic. I've never seen one start with an 8.

That is interesting. I think most of us would like to know what we are eating... I always try to purchase produce grown in the US.

I'll look at this at the store. I think the main point is that people and the state governments are becoming aware of the screw job that is being done on the consumer.

A while ago our local chain grocery store started selling bison meat from Paraguay. :O It's good but hella expensive.

I agree. If they are against labeling the origin of food, it means they have something to hide.

If they are selling genetically modified foods and do not want for their customers to know that, its criminal IMHO.

Once they are made by law to label it, they still try and cheat. Separate labels thst fall off, tiny writing, labeling in obscure places,content mixing, etc.- etc, all these things were tried here, forcing costly reviews. Prominent lettering directly next to product name , they'll still find a way to cheat. Theres one gmo product in my local, rapeseed oil . Its a tenth the price of olive oil and still no one buys it.
