I just don't see how that worked for anyone. I understand from my niece though, that had 3 babies, that each labor is different and some weren't as bad as others.

Giving labour to a baby is disgusting. Have you seen what a bloody mess it is and the worst looking part of it is the after birth. Her playing with her little nub is the least graphic of details and will stop once the baby is about to come out. Her rubbing her lady bit is no worse than her rubbing her lower back to try and relieve the pain. The nub has many nerve endings and is sensitive to touch. I does work, and what happens is that you focus on the pleasure instead of the pain, I believe similar results can be had with hypnosis. The pain does not stop, but the lvl goes down several magnitudes, like from a 7 to a 2. The effect lasts several hours. My own theory is that the dopamin released during the act helps with that.
