The protests outside were peaceful (although ridiculous, extreme, and lacking in any sort of common sense - one sign read "Trump is Hitler's son!", another was a third-grade level drawing of a penis with Trump's head) and the few disruptions on the inside were nothing but a few shouters who were promptly escorted outside. Trump's talking points were excellent and ended the nearly one hour speech on a very high note. Prior to Trump coming out, a recording played two times asking the crowd to not engage with any disrupting protesters and to simply chant 'Trump' and point out the bad apples to security. At no time did Trump advocate any violence. When he did acknowledge a protester, he called them Bernie's people. Towards the end, as he was making some key points, he simply told the crowd to ignore the troublemakers. Again, great crowd control by the Donald. I noticed all through the address, he was going at Bernie much more than Hillary. It may be some inside intel that she may not be making it to the general election. And yes, as another poster noted, everyone in the parking lot got a great view of the Trump jet taxiing down the runway, then taking off. Excellent event and bodes very well for his chances in Ohio. We'll be attending the Kasich town hall tomorrow (because it's close by). I'll be interested to note the comparison...especially in crowd size and enthusiasm. Oh, the merch tables were everywhere! Seriously, it looked like a rock concert or a flea market there. And I think it was all (or a lot of it) unlicensed gear...not from Trump. “A person is smart, people are stupid.” “Nobody knows until everybody knows” |
