The amount does not need to be raised!" I am female, as was the first kitten, Raye, I helped bring into this world and had the treasure of giving her love for 7 1/2 short years. On the 25 they also made the overstay visas for a lot of foreign people, permanent. It is coming out of the white house. New rules for the homeland security, for who I wonder? Company is profit oriented, but at what cost ? Imagine if Disney would transfer all the jobs out of country , to China or even Philippines ( which has the cheapest work force). It is with the policies that need to change the way employee are hired and retained. Think of minimum wage 65000 employee from abroad will not cause people to loose jobs in America. America is much bigger than that. The innovation is which led USA to become world power. Let the innovative talent be brought back. Look at this story (bit dated), but still hold true. [link to www.npr.org] Dont loose jobs to another country, Make sure intelligent is still on right side and working hard to build. |

I work for a tech company that already hires a lot of foreign labor, and the foreigners earn about 1/4th of what similar-skilled Americans make. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 55958179 So, if companies have these H1B visa employees along with American employees, the H1B's make 25% of their American counterparts whom they may be sitting in a seat next to? That was my supposition, but I'd like to know for certain. There has to be more to it that I'm missing. They have to live in the same areas we do, so how to they make enough to pay all the bills, is my question. Food stamps only go so far; I had to help my grandparent out who got them and I did the shopping, too. I'm a very good coupon shopping lady, I don't waste money. I never could make the $150 in stamps cover the month. She was on soc sec and got the maximum stamps allowed. And she had no cell bill, just a $20/month landline. No car so no repairs or ins. I don't get how they make it?! Thanks for all of your replies and I hope many others saw this thread and went to the site and commented. Still a bit of time, folks! Someone comment for me and tell them the H1B program has been getting abused for YEARS!! How about punishing the companies abusing this program and call all them new ones you want to issue used up from past abuse. |

Because a lot of these H1B visa employees have support from the company that hires them to live in crappy apartments crammed in with other H1B visa employees. Also, I've seen doctors and PHD's hired like this as well from Asia. They work for minimum wage but the last laugh is with them when they take their knowledge to start a competing company in their home country. |
