What they are doing is making the middle class become poor. We are paying for everything. If a guy is 'earning' 120k a year and losing 43%, he might be better off in a 70 k a year job. The whole thing is a sickness.

Fair tax is a tax on goods only. NO INCOME TAX. Nobody should be forced to give up their hard earned pay. Yes, they would collect less (why they won't do it), but they will just have to make do with the lower budget. Like most common people do.

Actually that is very presumptuous of you. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with my two kids, I drive a Ford Focus stick shift with 252,000 miles and is currently in the shop with a blown transmission.

I work with the severely persistently mentally ill and they are coming in my office crying because their bridge cards (food stamps) are being cut to $14 per month. Now I understand there is abuse in the system, I have been a witness to that as well. I have also done what I can to minimize it when I can, but it is not about the poor. It is about bombing foreign countries, fomenting war on foreign soil...it has never been about helping the poor. They are lying to you.

value added tax is a huidden tax in the production of a product. The more steps and more comapnies need to produce the product teh more the tax.

But SS retirement is confiscated out of every single paycheck you get for as long as you are working.

It has been various percentages through the years, but you bet it was paid into, and after it was confiscated for working people so they would have some retirement income, the government confiscated it back and the fund is limping along.

Income Tax was not stared as a payroll tax, IOW it was not a wage tax.

It was income as in big shots, stock capital gains and dividends, not the wage earner
