45% of American's Pay No Income Tax | |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 71508573 United States 02/25/2016 12:19 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | if everyone would pay its taxes like they should. All general taxes would be much lower. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71502157 No dear, nobody needs to be taxed. that money is going strait to the IMF and the Fed. Only local taxes actually go into local funds, and as you know, due to corruption lots of that disappears as well. There are more than enough resources and everything else for every person in the world to live well. That's how much wealth in the world there is, and the super wealthy wouldn't even feel it. What they are doing is making the middle class become poor. We are paying for everything. If a guy is 'earning' 120k a year and losing 43%, he might be better off in a 70 k a year job. The whole thing is a sickness. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71515968 There's no point since I'm retired and need to figure out how to spend all my savings before I die. Maybe hookers.... Bleh hookers..... just pay some college girl to come sit on it a few days a week, they will be cuter, cleaner, and its money spent for a good cause! Great idea, but how to find her? I'd be glad to pay. |

Much better use of time. |

If the government deficit spends to enrich their college drinking buddies, then we pay little to no tax. If the government makes a budget and is responsible like responsible people should do, then we pay our fair tax. They used to say no taxation without representation. We should be saying no taxation without rational behavior from our government. Maybe that's why the government wants to stunt your growth and intellectual development so you can't see how immature and irresponsible they are with your money (taxes). |

Fair tax is a tax on goods only. NO INCOME TAX. Nobody should be forced to give up their hard earned pay. Yes, they would collect less (why they won't do it), but they will just have to make do with the lower budget. Like most common people do. |

Quoting: ChronicallyCurious I am the 65% paying for the 45% And yet the amount in taxes you paid is more than most people who don't pay taxes make in a year. I'm sure you're doing much better than them. Actually that is very presumptuous of you. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment with my two kids, I drive a Ford Focus stick shift with 252,000 miles and is currently in the shop with a blown transmission. I work with the severely persistently mentally ill and they are coming in my office crying because their bridge cards (food stamps) are being cut to $14 per month. Now I understand there is abuse in the system, I have been a witness to that as well. I have also done what I can to minimize it when I can, but it is not about the poor. It is about bombing foreign countries, fomenting war on foreign soil...it has never been about helping the poor. They are lying to you. They are taxing us into poverty because they need more money for the War Machine. |

If you try to live like that with small children and your neighbor who is upset because of some stupid thing reports you anonymously to CPS for abuse then you will understand why I got a degree in a marketable field so my children would not be in jeopardy. Not everyone can do that, I would love to. Families had dirt floors and outhouses and that was ok, now that is abuse and neglect today. |

Quoting: PACNWGUY-01 No State income tax in Washington. WA has a 8.5% sales tax and that seems to do the trick. sales tax is not value added tax, dummy value added tax is a huidden tax in the production of a product. The more steps and more comapnies need to produce the product teh more the tax. How about a wooden chair? Logger, add value added tax Saw Mill, add value added tax Furniture maker, add value added tax three fucking times its taxed not to mention , add value added tax, on anything used to join the wood and every used to to manufacture every thing value added tax is a nightmare |

Quoting: Mkguyver Social Security retirement has as a matter of fact been "paid into" Social Security disablement is a different issue. But SS retirement is confiscated out of every single paycheck you get for as long as you are working. It has been various percentages through the years, but you bet it was paid into, and after it was confiscated for working people so they would have some retirement income, the government confiscated it back and the fund is limping along. *** Good deeds bring rewards, bad actions bring troubles. You need to understand what is and what isnt 'taxable income' and be able to explain it. If you work, and get paid for your labor, is that 'income' or is that simply getting paid in exchange for your labor?? Figure that out...then stop paying. Don't figure it out...keep paying. Its strictly your voluntary choice to keep paying. If it was mandatory, then that would be involuntary servitude...and last I checked thats currently as illegal as slavery is. It was income as in big shots, stock capital gains and dividends, not the wage earner You know, TAX WALL STREET!!!! lol Then as an "emergency", payroll wages started to be taxed to fight the evil Hitler and company. I'm glad that none of you even get it |

No you overstate it, as I said before 40% of federal revenue is through social security medicare medicaid, another 40% is income tax. Yes 90 million are not working but the working poor also pay federal tax. Lots of it. |
