That was a mix up in labeling....that can was for the Chinese export....

All canned green beans taste like shit to me.
I grow my own green beans in my garden. Fresh is best.

I found a beetle the size of a large pea in a can of green peas a few weeks back.

My friend worked in the green bean factory back in the day- summers and second shift during high school.

He said their job was to pull out the snakes and sticks before they went to canner- WHOOPS!

He and his HS pals would put green army men - those childhood plastic toys in the cans

He also lived or a month on discounted green beans by the case - both parents died and he was orphaned, homeless ( lived in a car during the winter of '77) so he doesn't like green beans now.

Snakes live in fields.

I picked after the machines - called gleaning- the farmers would let us get free green beans and I would freeze them for my family. Fear of snakes didn't keep me away- I just wore boots and high socks.

You people have no idea where your food comes from.

I did find mouse shit on top of a frozen pie one time.

From time to time things like this will happen.
Green beans grow in farm fields.
Healthy farm fields have mice and other
prey animals for predators.
Mechanical harvesting is used and packing/canning
facilities run fast.
Had it been a piece of metal, it'd have been discovered
with the the x-ray and/or metal detectors.

Now THAT shouldn't happen.

I looked at it for a while wondering why they would drop 4 chocolate sprinkles on a coconut cream pie. Looking closer.......it was mouse shit

I hope the snake did not suffer
