"Sea Monster" Washes up in Australia
IFLScience.com: "The Loch Ness Monster has got nothing on this. A creature which looks like a mash-up of a dolphin, a crocodile, and an eel has washed up in Australia.

Local fisherman Robert Tyndall took a photograph of the sea beast after finding it poking out onto a boat ramp in Swansea, New South Wales."

Aussiemonster

As we all know, surfing dead whales is a favorite Australian pastime. Perhaps now, surfing giant eeligators can be added to the list.

Pike eel my ass.
Google some Pike Eels.....they look nothing like that head or the size of that body.

That has a croc/alligator type head.

You're being thrown off by the scale. The camera is very very close to the surface, the animal is quite small.

Regardless of the scale, the pike eels don't have a wide flat type gator head like that.
Google some of them.

Definitely not a pike eel. That's just a thought from a person in denial of our ignorance as a species.

And although it may not be monstrous in scale, it does look to be at least 5-10 feet long.

I see that but look at the tail end descending into the water. I figure it probably tapers off at the end and it doesn't appear to be doing that as far as we can see. Leads me to suspect that's about 1/2 - 2/3 of its body length.

I don't think it is nearly as big as you guy's do.
The photo angle is making it look larger than it is.
Pay attention the grain size of the sand and the "baby waves" for scale.

My guess.... 3 to 4 feet long.
Some of the tail is still in the water hidden.

All that said....I still think it's a new species.

I think things are coming up from the deep....idk why, but for anyone who dives the ocean is just vast and when you wall dive....whoa...the depths are just incredible.
