Breaking: Rand Paul drops out of race

Likely Rubio and Cruz

Rubio spent more money in Iowa than Trump and Cruz COMBINED and he came in THIRD.

Rubio has no chance. He's nothing but media hype at this point. He's got a stink on him from sucking Schumer's dick that he'll never get rid of.

Rand struck me as a very cold person, no warmth, thus no appeal. That's my take.

This sucks.

So even though I do not support Rand, and am a Trump supporter, I just do not believe it is yet his time. I was a supporter of his Dad, but I do not think Rand is a limb off of his father's tree--yet.

I do hope Trump adds him to the administration in one way or another, as I think his heart leans in the right place, but he still needs some seasoning. I don't think he had much chance of winning the nomination, maybe in 8 years.

He is a strong voice for liberty and Constitutionality in the Senate--very much needed at this time. WAY more than Cruz or Rubio. And his feelings of non-intervention with the military fall right in line with my own at this time. Bring them all home, fix our counrty, and if someone screws with the US, bomb them into the Stone Age. But quit blowing US Taxdollars on a worldwide military. Every war and fight in this world is NOT America's interest.

And in Obummer's last year in office, Rand's obstructionist voice may be better served in the Senate at this time.

I think he made a smart move.

But I don't agree with Trump. I'm not voting for someone who plans to further infringe on my 4A rights in the name of "safety." Where have we heard this before?

If we followed the constitution, none of the madness going on with illegals and terrorists would be happening. Limited government would limit the power these asses in DC are using to destroy our country, R and D. But they don't believe in limited government, it ties their slimy hands and keeps them from taking in millions of dollars. That is not what this country was founded on, or intended to be. ISIS is of our making. Is that constitutional? That's why we need to "do things we've never done before." No, I can't get on board with this. I've done nothing to deserve being monitored by my government. Bush did it, we screamed. Trump is going to enlarge the circle, why is this now ok?

If you think one person can realign the R party, that's very hopeful. It can't even be done at a local level. I've seen the trials and failures.

Trump stole Rand's base before he even had a chance. The Ron Paul base flocked to Trump and abandoned Rand, much like Rand abandoned his father. I always liked Rand but he tried to cozy up to the GOPe and got burned by his base and by the establishment.

I, too, wished that he tried to be Trump's VP but instead he attacked him. Rand is still young and can run again after 8 years of Trump.

Thanks, I appreciate your post. I do agree Rand needs to be in the Senate now to stop the continuing trainwreck and we're definitely on the same page with military interventionalism.

Reports are that Rand dropped out due to the Squirrel living on his head wanting out of the grueling campaign trail and running back to the deep forest.Rand has been seen scouring the woods looking for a replacement squirrel and is expected to have a close match by today putting him back in the race.

That's a shame. I know he went away from his core and tried to garner mainstream republicans, but I kind of liked that.

He isn't as isolationist as his father. I think he just appears kind of weak as a person which it too bad.

I like this idea.

While I don't disagree with you in principle, if you're looking for the perfect candidate then you should run, yourself.

It's clear at this point (to me anyway) that the power structures that exist need to be taken down. The reason the elites and the MSM hate Trump is because they know he's a wild card and cannot be controlled by them. It's a start. I don't really want the R party "realigned." I want it taken apart like a bull might take a china shop apart. Rubio's damn sure not going to do that. He's establishment all the way. Trump has the stones to stand up to the world and if he does HALF of what he's saying he wants to do, it's a step in the right direction.

I never said I would support Bush, but, I don't like cruz either. Heck, I don't like any of the other's. Rand was our only hope for liberty. We are headed for anarchy, and not the good kind.

I almost never mean what people interpret my words to mean, ever.

It doesn't matter since Trump won't get the nomination... when either Cruz or Rubio drop out, their supporters will vote for each other's counterpart and not Trump, leaving Trump out of the race except as a third party.

If he runs third party, democrats win. If he bows out, Rubio will probably win.

I agree that we shouldn't reject a good candidate just because he isn't perfect. But Trump's Patriot act support makes him unacceptable. A vote for Trump is a vote to put the nail into the constitution permanently. I also think that those who think that he isn't an insider are participating in wishful thinking.
