Somali Plane Emergency lands with hole in fuselage

Some reports say a fire broke out shortly after take-off.



"It was not an explosion but a fuselage failure at 10,000ft," he told the BBC.

Hmmm - interesting that the BBC reports this as a Somali plane - when Daallo Airlines are based in Dubai - UAE


Somalia has been dealing with IS - recruiting their militants etc and trying to prevent that...

“Fifteen minutes the aircraft was in the air. There was a bang, a sort of an explosion, and then it returned safely,” he told me in a telephone interview Tuesday afternoon. “There are two minor injuries. We don’t know what caused it … Anything is possible. By tomorrow the picture will be clearer.”

The images have emerged amid claims by African locals that they saw a severely burned body fall from a passing jet several hours ago.

I think it is important to keep an eye on these things. It is looking like a suicide bomber - oxygen masks deployed - but passengers cool as cucumbers.

Seeing those mobile phones filming makes me wonder again about MH370 - and the Germanwings footage as well.


It makes me wonder about the cor pan account with the picture of MH17... panpan being emergency and the photo - maybe implying photos and film which has gone to cloud - and making me think again about who owns or who has access to cloud data.

Now, it has emerged that passengers are being questioned about the blast - with officials reportedly treating the incident as 'suspicious'.

Somali security forces are investigating the cause of the incident, according to voasomali.com .

According to local reports, the jet had just departed from Mogadishu when passengers heard a loud 'bang' from an explosion.

I can't find any recent data for that flight - last i can find online is from last October - can only find Turkish airlines doing the route - and tomorrow's flight is cancelled for some reason.

Man killed in Somalia plane emergency

A man was killed in an explosion on an Airbus A321 that made a hole in the fuselage and forced the plane to return to the Somali capital of Mogadishu to make an emergency landing.

Somalia's civil aviation director, Abdiwahid Omar, has told the state radio website that a person was missing after the Daallo Airlines plane landed on Tuesday and the body has been found.

I am wondering if more people got sucked out - as a point is being made about one - but during the cover-up process an attempt was made to say 60 people on board - not passengers - people.

So if 1 body was recovered by locals - maybe others are missing or recovered quietly or not reported - I am not sure about these reports.

Also trying to imply it was Mogadishian who died - we do not know this - I would be looking at which airlines fly in and out of Mogadishu - and right now all I have found really is Turkish.

Sorry - I only have Turkish for the Mogadishu to Djibouti run - so far as planes which can be picked up by radar are concerned.

Then i would look at what flights were going to be coming out of Djibouti - so far I have a flight to Instanbul.

Impact from what?

The formation of the hole suggests an internal source, but what if something small hit the plane first & the damage we see is due to the unfortunate man being sucked out of the hole & as a result, the hole size has increased & the metal is bent outwards - giving the impression of an internal source.

That might help to explain why Turkish Airlines have cancelled the equivalent flight for today.

It could also imply that the passenger was not carrying the explosive but that it was initiated from under his seat - the whole seat is gone in that twitter dude's photos - hence - he was ejected...

I don't know if it is relevant to that plane or that flight but under one of the links i have posted is some convo which says that in Somalia some planes have the seats removed to transfer animals around then the seats are clicked back in before the flights for human passengers... it also says that people from some countries are not expected to show their passports - while locals are.

there is a abit of debate about this

someone else says that is not possible just after take off and plane needs to be at cruise altitude


i think it is interesting to know what to do if something like this occurs - do we move to the back of the plane - is that best - safest?
