Or did you also think that "small businesses, churches, schools, fire departments, and little league baseball" are masonic conspiracies too?

Oh goodie! The bitterly biased AC responded. You came close to the subject of the little 90 second video only once in 6 paragraphs. Congrats on even knowing that there is such a thing as the Magna Carta and that many principles from it did inform the basic arguments for the US constitution.

The point Ben Sasse was making in the video was very clear. Our government was instituted to secure our natural rights (there's your Magna Carta reference) given by God. Such a government should by definition have very limited power and be controlled by the people. What is a conservative? It should be someone who strives to conserve (there's that root word) that original principle by acknowledging the divine provision of natural rights and limiting the authority of government to do nothing more than to secure those rights.

In short a political conservative is someone who wants to conserve for the future what we had at our founding.
