Long story short, got the family the $50 Fires for Christmas so I could use the parental controls, share books, etc. Every single charger cord was loose out of the box and won't charge worth a crap. They just fall out of the charging port. My BFF had this happen with hers too. Anyone else bought these and had the same issue, or a pricier version and NOT had this issue? I'm going on eBay to replace these POS cords tonight. I'm just wondering if those of us who didn't want to invest in high dollar electronics for our kids were the ones stuck with crap chargers. My kindle paperwhite never had this problem, and neither did our cheapo kindle readers. Btw, what's for dinner? I need to clean out space in the fridge so I'm thinking baked beans, creamed corn, Texas Toast, and a side of spaghetti meat sauce for dipping. Weird, but kids eat anything and the hubby doesn't mind since we paid for it. Waste not, want not, I guess! Formerly faint

I have a fire and have ZERO problems with the charger cord, in fact it's better than any other cord I have, and is a fast charger. I even charge my phone with it. Kindles are excellent quality imo.

I had purchased three of them back when they were close to 200. None of them worked more than a year. They all had charging issues. Eventually they went dead and would never charge. They have a year warranty and they will send you a new one but I had several replacements with all mine and still ended up with the same problems.

The have a tendency to get easily deformed so that you need to keep them inserted at an angle to generate a charge. Drives me crazy propping up my cords all the time. I'm an Android guy and will defend it against Apple fanboys on most points, but I am constantly buying and replacing micro USB chargers and it is fucking annoying.

I had to charge my kindle paperwhite with an old cell charger. Too bad it's lost now. I've never had trouble with Apple micro chargers, but the old "T"-shaped MacBook chargers were shit. The body, however, was. And I got some helpful feedback, so it wasn't a fruitless post. I'm glad to know I'm not the only one, though sorry others had the same issue. We're just splitting hairs here.
