Re: Earthquake in NJ?
If this is possible; maybe the earth is shifting and
being acting upon by force that is not like the sharp force of an earthquake. The seismic detectors my not register rolling motions.

This outside force could be gravity of the coming alignment of plants. Gravity is a weak force but acts at great distances.

Weird "Sonic Boom" Grew up in a training area of Central Texas and heard them all the time. Usually just a quick burst and that's it. Video seems like shaking goes on a few seconds.

But who knows. Maybe a few in succession.

supershear earthquake
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69435466

[link to en.wikipedia.org (secure)] A supershear earthquake is an earthquake in which the propagation of the rupture along the fault surface occurs at speeds in excess of the seismic shear wave (S-wave) velocity. This causes an effect analogous to a sonic boom.[1]

Shouldn't NORAD know if there were aircraft in the region that could produce a sonic boom?

Also, I don't know if this is related, but 8992 is going nuts with a message about "Lost Sheep".

We all have one thing in common...

Huge snowstorm over the weekend with warm temps starting Tuesday, I was in the car this afternoon listening to talk radio. Has to do with the earth freezing then warming. They were in contact with a geologist who named the term for this. It's freezing at night then warming during the day.

NJ 101.5....not sure if they have it online. These were the talk show hosts at the time: Deminski & Doyle

The term is: Cryoseism

JERSEY SHORE ROCKED BY SONIC BOOM, USGS AND NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CONFIRM

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- A sonic boom rocked towns along the New Jersey coastline Thursday. The source of the blast, however, remains unclear.

The event reportedly happened around 1:30 p.m. and was felt from Lakewood to Vineland.....

The USGS provided the locations of the sonic booms they recorded, and their proximity to nearby towns:

- 2 miles NNE of Hammonton, NJ
- 8 miles SSE of Jackson, NJ
- 11 miles East of Williamstown, NJ
- 13 miles SE of Pine Hill, NJ
- 37 miles S of Trenton, NJ

Dr. Won-Young Kim is a research professor at the Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory of Columbia University. Dr. Kim says what was felt is consistent with something likely off shore breaking the sound barrier....

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear."

Sonic booms mistaken for earthquakes in New Jersey, Long Island

Sonic booms from fighter jets flying offshore were mistaken for earthquakes by residents along coastal New Jersey and Long Island Thursday afternoon, authorities said.

Residents reported that buildings shook and the ground trembled — but the US Geological Survey said there was no seismic activity in the area.

Aircraft fling faster than 761 mph — the speed at which sound travels — create deafening booms that sound like explosions.

An official for the Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst told News12 they did not hold exercises Thursday that would have caused a sonic boom, but the USGS blamed the noise on aircraft breaking the sound barrier.
