Quoting: Simple27 The USGS picked up waveforms throughout the New Jersey area. Dutton speculated the incidents could have been sonic booms from military aircraft, but had no confirmation. She expected to have a better idea of what caused the shaking by 4 p.m. A spokesperson for Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst said no operations that would cause such a boom were taking place. Ocean County Sheriff Mike Mastronadry said he’d been told the same, and was still trying to determine what caused the shakes.
