Re: What's your opinion of the X-Files mini-series premiere?
Other than showing a scene at the beginning with Ovomit, which came on without any warning and I unfortunately caught a glimpse of him before I could turn away, and then Mulder acting like a liberal and totally shocked and clueless at what Joel McHale was telling him when they first met because he thought that McHale was a loser, crazy conservative, and I'm thinking why do the libs have to RUIN EVERYTHING, even one of my favorite characters and shows, I liked it a lot!

At times it did seem rushed, maybe it's because they have so few episodes to fit a LOT of stuff. Mulder came to his big revelation with so much certainty way too quickly. But the show was interesting and suspenseful.

I missed the old chemistry between Mulder and Scully. It was there somewhat, but it's been a long time It's only the first show, so hopefully it will come back.

Re: What's your opinion of the X-Files mini-series premiere?
I think 'they' are changing strategy now - this stuff can't be hidden anymore so it gets revealed in a fictional TV show. They also lump it all in together - 9/11, Roswell, aliens, free energy, shadow government etc. So now anyone trying to talk about those topics immediately gets dismissed as someone who just watches too much X Files.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 70491234

I got news for you:
They've been saying that since year 1 of X-Files.

X-Files woke up a huge segment of America. More importantly, it introduced the entire Western world to the concept of a secret, malevolent authority structure that uses lies to cover lies for purposes that are twisted, obfuscated, and altogether malicious.

Great show!

Mulder needs to shave, old grey man stubble is just old grey man stubble and ugly.

I agree. It wasn't very flattering, but in the show that's on tonight he's cleaned up nicely, wearing a suit and all. I guess the scruffy look went along with the story of his depression.

Joel McHale does a very very good job of combining an Art Bell/George Noory/Glenn Beck vibe into his character.

I don't think its OK to call black people names when some of them are living in the most horrible parts of this world and starving because our corrupt and shitty elite/Gov are psychopaths and selfish and put Money and WAR over peace and support. Most of them ot all there must be some good hearted people up there.

I'm ok with pointing fingers at people who deserve it no matter what race but too many people are doing it wrong here on GLP.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71251142

I agree completely. Although they also have tyranny within their communities, it is just smaller forms of our own government. The race war goes both ways. No one is at fault but the people who keep it going...AKA not only the liberals, but most shills on GLP.

Re: What's your opinion of the X-Files mini-series premiere?
I read somewhere a long time ago that Chris Carter actually
worked on the real X-files when he worked/works? for the government.I was always a huge fan but after David D left the series thought it descended into stupid. Loved the first film, hated the second one.

I thought the premiere was excellent for the most part. David D. looked like shit, and his energy seems much darker. He also acted like he was just doing a walk-thru with his lines. The initial chemistry between he and G.A......wasn't. Other than her very tight face I thought Gillian A. was like she used to be.What is unsettling is,for them to reveal so much of what we know, they must be VERY CLOSE to the ultimate chess move, and laughing their asses off. Didn't work out too well on Mars,in Babylon or Atlantis-they can't get their binky sucking way so they take everyone down with them scenario is getting VERY OLD.

Thank you nice person for posting the FOX link.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71279894

Chris Carter's problem became he was spread too thin across Millenium (with Lance Henriksen 1996 'ish) and XFiles, both being filmed in Vancouver.

Stop it. Why is everyone so infatuated with seeing what they want? "Liberals" were trashed and O'Malley was portrayed as a fringe "conservative"..it went both ways. Man, fucking antiquated ways of thinking, libs and cons...sheesh.

edit** And for God's sake, it isn't like the show did some intense political 180, the characters have been portrayed as very middle ofthe road politically. The show came out at the height of the PC push in the early 90's and has retained a lot of it's fanbase by avoiding(for the most part) party based politics. Liberal and conservative are HUGE freaking buzzwords among the conspiracy community (haven't you noticed) so it shouldn't come a a shock that they are thrown around a little bit.
