from here. felt it was neccessary to split this thread.

ffs..

I think mediums have had too much time in the spotlight, understandably after 9/11 John Edward shows reached out to people in a way they needed. A nation had been touched and opened to their more compassionate senses, the voice of someone validating their deepest hopes was comforting and cradled the development of a more sensitive consciousness.

Now every medium out there has drawn from this need and the cup has almost been drained. It#s time they stepped back and other kinds of programming given priority. Our minds and hearts are ready for a new approach.

what kinds of programming, like a spiritual network that plays tones and sounds conducive for meditation? Or maybe some fitness shows that have yoga or kungfu?

no, I was thinking more documentary type programming. When the peace process was undertaken as a serious vision in Ireland, programming became "very peace process conscious".
Tv stations both sides of the river began directing awarness toward issues which highlighted our commonalities, real life docu's and drama's which opened doors to foster understanding. and it worked in a way.
Instead of focusing on the hatred and contempt each side felt and the despair of considering what was thought to be a hopelessly difficult situation to resolve, they began focusing on the better side of life, appealing to the humanity within us all. In a way they made it cool to want peace and a new future began to seem hopeful.
Like propaganda in reverse as it had a positive change effect.

i'll look back and see if I can find some of the character of the programmes.

well, to be specific (cause I would be all night trying to locate and discuss the terms of how prgramming changed), people stopped being afriad of telling the truth and while at times it may have seemed harsh, it was terribly refreshing.
The people were given a voice.

While I understand that the nature of such freedoms is usually restricted to internet servies like youtube, it's time mainstream began buying into it and producing good quality stuff.

heard it here first.

The Islamist Army says it wants talks with the United States and some Islamist Internet postings call for a P.R. campaign aimed at influencing the American public. The video is disturbing to watch but CNN believes the story, shocking as it is, needs to be told.

No, they're only comfortable when there's some sort of "Us and Them" thing goin on.
Unable to grasp the concept of the world peace thingy.
They only want it so long as they can dominate everyone else in the world who exists. rolleyes

Re: Is America ready to listen to terrorists?
Firstly, you need to look into the Islamic practices of "Kithman" and "Taqiya" to understand how Muslim leaders and followers negotiate.

With this in mind, how simple it is to overpower one's adversaries when they think you are acting "in good faith." The West prides itself on it's tolerance. Political correctness is all about inclusiveness...problem is Islam is NOT an inclusive system no matter how much they may argue that it is. It is the antithesis of peace, harmony, love.

There is no way that one can debate or find solutions with people who look at you with disdain and who would kill you because their prophet told them it was their duty. You cannot argue or find commonalities with this mindset.

Please...start looking these things up for yourselves and be educated to what they truly believe. They will not stop until you are dead or converted. If you love your freedoms, you need to be informed on this topic.

The request by the "Islamic army" as reported by the US media today, claims that they are acting in the best interests of their people. That they are not linked in any way to al Qaeida and their fight is territorial, not global. They say they are tired of watching their sons die and they do not have any faith in the Iraqi Govt and consider them as a placement which only serves Iranian and American interests.
They want people to know the truth and they want people to listen to what they have to say.
They once served as allies to the US, theysay they are wllling to open those doors again.

Asw for the spiel about who is capable of diplomatic discussion, the same diatribe was propaganda used to serve British and loyalist interests in the north for years. Closed minds breed contempt. The first step toward resolving these situations is to confront your enemies, face to face and see what they really look like.

Confronting your enemies face-to-face is all well and good, but to understand their tactics prior to commencing dialog will go a long way to keeping the playing field level...if you understand my meaning. What I am speaking of is a method of disarming your adversary through sugary speech and promises of peace. It's a long-held historical tactic that most have no inkling of (especially today). Trust...but verify. All I'm saying.....

America can only speak with terrorist after she confronts and speaks with the terrorists within herself. So that prospect will never happen. Bush even said that we do not make deals with "terrarist." That includes you, btw.
