Like jigs, soft plastics, frogs, poppers or crankbaits?

I'm just wondering because you can now get glowing jig skirts, grubs, frogs, etc.

I'd just like to improve my luck in murky water conditions and at night. I fish mostly for bass and walleye.

Thanks.

I use glow in the dark "Gulp" baits from Berkley....salt water tho....works well for the predawn bite....I also use mini glow sticks to draw fish to my natural bait in deep waters...

I used to use "green worms"or nitro worms. they were invented by a guy I know, right around the corner from me in Toronto.they worked very well and kind of fluoresced. I believe he invented a way to make them ingest rad coolant. He sold the business about a decade ago to someone in the US and I never saw them again. The garlic infused ones worked 24/7 on walleye and bass. As for glow in the dark lures..no luck yet except for catfish.

I have - they work good.

There is a bait store near me that sells glow in the dark spoons what work well for pike and bass.

At night time icefishing I use glow jigs.
Anything that helps the fish zero in on the bait increases your chances.

Re: Has anyone here tried Glow-in-the-Dark fishing lures?
On eBay, I just bought some glowing silicone jig skirt material (enough to make 15 jigs or spinner baits). When they get here, I'll be eager to try them out on the largemouth bass at the lake. They stay really deep this time of year and it's hard to get their attention.

I was thinking that a glowing finesse worm or senko would be good for drop-whirring this time of year too. I'd like to find some.

They say 98% of lures are made to catch fisherman. After 40 years of fishing I believe it. I have 2 go to lures in my box that never fail, the rest are mainly decoration or desperation. i would put glow in the dark lures in that category.

What attracts fish more than light is some of those new scents you put on lures they are made using science and they do attract fish.

Why do you fish for Bass? You don't even eat them right?
Aren't they like carp?

Re: Has anyone here tried Glow-in-the-Dark fishing lures?
I've been putting those little green chem lights on my Bass and Cat bait. It seems to help them see the bait at night for cats. Fish are naturally curious about any light at night,.

I've also cut a small slit/pouch into rubber worms and inserted the little glo sticks in them and put a rubber band around to hold it in when the Bass hits. I use the nearly clear/translucent worms so the stick lights up the whole body. Also in winter, most fish slow down in the colder water and dont hit those large worms , but they will still knock the hell outta rubber grubs, roostertails and small Cray/frogs.

Here in LA(lower Alabama) we have catching a bunch of RedEyed Largemouths! I know, they all have yellow eyes! but the last 5 years there have been these RedEyed LargeMouth Hybrid Bass showing up and they fight twice as hard and 3 times as long. A little 5 lb`er fights like a 10 lb`er.

I caught 6 of them over 5lbs yesterday in the Choctawhatchie in about an hour. The river is about 5 feet higher cause of last rain and been muddy instead of clear. 2 of them I caught on a black 6" worm, 1 on a green Cristie Critter Craw/frog, and the other 3 I used a cotton candy/pumkin clear worm with a glow stick in it.

Not Corexit. They are a hybrid between the Large mouth Florida and a small mouth. They are rare and started out in the Coosa River . For some reason this last year the Choctawhatchie and its creeks have been slam full of them.

I used to throw them all back because the State and Auburn University both said they were very rare. This year I have caught at least as many with some red in thier eyes as the yellow , so ive been eating the hell out of them.

Those red eyes taste mighty fine like all Bass do.

Luckily, where I fish, there are not any consumption warnings from pollution like a lot of rivers and lakes.

I have been eating Bass, cats, and bluegills at least twice a week for the last 35 years and have a clean bill of health, other than broken neck 2 years ago. ;)
