Fred Rogers was a badass Navy SEAL team guy. So was Captain Kangaroo. These guys came back to the world and wanted to make a difference. What I took from it is you can be that guy that loves and nurtures his wife and kids and when something threatens them it's okay to turn on the badass. Back in those days we had a lot of dad's the didn't know how to fit back in to the world and it resulted in lots of black eyes for moms and welts on kid's asses.
