Calling all atheists, unbelievers, and fence-sitters to an epic experiment: A taste test.
Are you an atheist? A skeptic? Are you curious about God, but aren't ready to go to a church?

Many of you are likely very analytical, and highly intelligent. That's alright, God actually made you that way, and He is in no way opposed to critical thinking, but since that's your personality inclination, I propose something to apply that kind of temperament to an experiment.

One of the things people who don't know or believe in God are missing is the relational aspect of Christianity. Perhaps you may presume because you cannot see God, or get tangible evidence of His working in the world, He is not there.

Christians who have a lot of experience with prayer know the power of it, as we've been wowed by it for years. The power, of course, is God's. It's motivated by love when a son or daughter of His calls out to Him for help His heart is stirred to action.

I propose a 7 day experiment starting Saturday morning. All you need to do is start every morning by declaring this statement over your life:

"God desires to help me because He loves me."

Then, throughout the day, in any way you may need help, pray this simple prayer:

"Father God, please help me to/with/in _____________. In Jesus' name I pray."

Do this for 7 days. Keep a journal, if you're willing, or just make note at what you see happening around you as you will be astonished at how powerful these prayers will be.

God is going to bring forth wisdom and insight to help you solves issues at work, within your family, or, if needed, in stuff like fixing your lawn mower. Literally, God will help you with anything you ask Him to help. You know when you've received wisdom and insight from God because it often times is something you would never have thought of yourself on your own, and, of course, it's an awesome solution.

You will see situations rearrange themselves to bring about solutions in completely inexplicable, wholly supernatural ways because God and His holy angels will go forth to facilitate these solutions.

The only thing you need to do is make that statement at the start of your day, lift up as many prayers as you desire for things you need help with, and do so in the name of Jesus as my quote above shows, and keep your eyes peeled for supernatural help from heaven because God is going to bring it!

As the week goes on, go ahead and report back in here to share testimonies.

I'm calling it The Great Taste Test!

Why? Because the Bible says, "Taste and see that the LORD is good!"

Also, the way I've said to do this is very important. The declaration at the outset of the day and sending all prayers to "Father God" in the name of "Jesus" are crucial for effective prayer.

Re: Calling all atheists, unbelievers, and fence-sitters to an epic experiment: A taste test.
Iv'e done similiair things before I became athiest. I gave thanks to god for things like food. I tried to constantly have "love" for god in my heart.

It had good effects. However, I'm fairly certain that its not the direct beliefs that matters. It's all about feeling, positive thought and focus on loving something beyond yourself.

It can be done with jesus, god, shiva, gurus, ect.. The object is unimportant.

I don't think this sort of thing can be done as an atheist though. I think one has to really commit, before going back to atheism.

No one goes in to love half-assed, they fall whole-heartedly.

I would think that a month would give this experiement a better chance. But only for those who are willing to drop rationality.

My technique was :
1. Believe in God.
2. Thank God for everything. For example, thanks God for food like it is a gift.
3. Focus on loving God throughout the entire day. Have that good feeling in the chest area. Be in the moment.
4. Don't rationalize it.

There is some other stuff one can do too. It's a technique in the Vigyan Bhairav Tantra. A technique called "Devotion Frees"

Osho Rajneesh explains it well :

[link to www.meditationiseasy.com]

I believed in God, became atheist. Then read what Osho had to say and it helped put my experiance with faith in perspecctive.

Sorry for the huge post!

I also wanted to say; Asking atheists to look for proof is probably not the best way to go about this experiance.

People became atheists because they started rationalizing everything. Religion is not a rational thing. Supernatural things can often be explained.

If one is a very mind-oriented person, I think religion will be a bad thing for them! Just my opinion though.

My posts have nothing to do with one religion being the truth or no religions being the truth. It's about using devotion for God as a way to improve your life. I was also trying to explain the general phenomena of devotion through my experiance.

Secondly, If I'm an athiest and have seen no logic in a religion like christianity, what makes you think I'm going to believe in Judaism?

In other words; no thanks.

Re: Calling all atheists, unbelievers, and fence-sitters to an epic experiment: A taste test.
See here's the thing, though. It's all bullshit. You don't know what you purport to know. You were brainwashed to believe this. You were born an atheist and rather than being taught to think for yourself, these myths were rammed down your throat as truths. You could have been born into a muslim household, and you'd be spouting totally different garbage. You could've been brought up Hindu, or Jewish, or Mormon, and be spouting yet other garbage. But it's still all garbage. There's plenty of wonderment out there, plenty to be thankful for, plenty to fulfill your imagination, plenty to satisfy your thirst for knowledge, plenty to do good for, plenty to love for. But it doesn't have to be stooped in unfounded superstition. Think for yourself and don't fall to these archaic ideologies born of ignorance. It's all bullshit. Deep down you know it - anyone with reasonable intelligence should be able to see it - you can't possibly, really believe the fairy tales that religions spout, can you? Wake up man!

I am not the type of person to preach, but I think that was very kind of you OP to try and get people to try God, like switching laundry detergents for a week- hey, if even one person tries, you did something good- but you know what, if not, you are still a good person, I can tell. So I hope God blesses you for trying this and don't get discouraged when this thread gets hijacked.

The supernatural realm is very real and there really is a massive war waging between God and the devil. Crowley was serving the devil, and while the devil may pay short dividends, the consequences are eternal.

Serve God and there are short and long-term benefits, most important of which eternal life by Jesus' shed blood.

Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one gets to the Father but by me."

And in no way should anyone send out random prayers to any so-called god because they will only be dealing with demons. Demons can do supernatural things, but it will only bring bad things into your life.

The way I've described how to pray will bring the goodness of God into one's life.
