Re: Mad World
The reason I brought it up was because Sean Penn is featured heavily in the first episode and mentioned how much 'untapped potential' exists in Haiti but the people are understandably traumatized, thus distrustful and disorganized.

Learned helplessness.

afghanese are not any of the above. in their minds they have sent the two largest world powers packing and who's to said they aren't right.

it may be important to examine what it means to be traumatized in the modern world. people living in the modern world are traumatized in very subtle and insidious ways!

people may be able to perceive their trauma only in their dreams. or their trauma may manifest in sleeping and eating disorders, to name just a few! lol

fuedal system is older than current western religions and afghan feudalism is supported by the west for strategic reason

that's neither here no there, the point is that trauma is a psychological condition inflicted on the ego! lol

sometimes its a BLUNT FORCE other times it is subtle and insidious!

the kind that's a blunt force is the kind you can make sense of. the subtle and insidious trauma is the kind that leaves you dazed and confused! lol

Thread: Horse kicks and kills another horse. Ouch! *Graphic Warning* (Page 5)

these idiots think you breed horses by shoving a mare in heat in with a stallion. You better introduce them first, she has to accept him or shit like this will happen. Greed kills, in this case a gorgeous stallion. As the poster above mentions the female has to be hobbled and she needs to feel secure about her foal.

Re: Mad World
i was thinking about afghanistan this morning. it seems since alexander the great to the present, a bunch of hillbillies refusing to change their way of life to accommodate civilized outsiders, have lived in relative simplicity that confounds the rest of the civilized world.

what is more perplexing is how they can continue to sit on mountains of resources that the world wants, but cannot access without paying a price that is too costly!

the world cannot use what it is unable to extract! lol
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72780729

I decided I wanted to watch something mindless and unlike anything I would normally watch yesterday.

Scrolled around and settle on Hulu. Anthony Bourdain 'Without Reservations'.

Traveling around and eating things..that sounds mindless.

The first episode was about Haiti and how almost nothing is better there going on 11 years after the earthquake there, that killed some estimate 300,000 people.

The rubble is still there. All of it. Rebar sticking out. Tent cities.

What small amount of eating there was I noticed what was mindless now was becoming depressing.

Pushed through the first episode to land in Cambodia and the Killing Fields.

Wait..isn't this about eating?

I shut it off after seeing a fisherman offering blessings to Bourdain about 'long life and great health' knowing he killed himself not long after it was filmed.

Think of all the horrible places we could have been born female..

That's why I postulated that Lilith was the serpent in the garden going back to warn Eve of what would become of her progeny.

Researchers studied photos of the Martian surface taken by rovers and orbiters
They say there are repeating and changing patterns of dark patches
They also saw evidence of circular blobs that appeared and grew in a few days
These are evidence of fungi, mold, lichens, algae and similar species, they say
The authors say it would be 'surprising' if there wasn't life on the Martian surface

Thread: bacon is a disgusting food that TPTB have made popular (Page 6)

everybody yaps about how awesome bacon or rather swine meat is. In reality they are just parroting what TPTB have programmed them to believe.

You see TPTB have a sick sense of humor. They laugh by making slave classes enjoy things that are disgusting ...bacon is one item .

TPTB view bacon as shit and avoid it. Yet they have convinced you that its awesome.

Slig
The Slig was a genetically engineered hybrid created by the Bene Tleilax. The creature was a cross between a giant slug and a pig.

...

Probably for religious reasons, the Tleilaxu did not eat the slig. However, they had no qualms with allowing powindah to pollute themselves with the unclean meat of the slig.

Emperor Shaddam Corrino IV loved to eat slig, and the resident of the Imperium called it "the sweetest meat this side of heaven."

More like prescience. Avoiding an upcoming potential.

One that was set in motion but that has offered a potential way around.

Think of it like Spice travel and navigating the heighliner through space without killing everyone.

Seeing that potential before reaching it, is the only way to steer out the way.

It's always very, very close. Which is why the potential existed in the first place.

Are Humans a Fungal Body And Our Consciousness a Mycilium?

During the past couple of days, I've been wondering a bit about consciousness and I bumped into some interesting material that suggest to me that the entire collection of humans on Earth are essentially a form of hyper-advanced fungal matter that has grown on Earths outer most surface as a form of mycelial mat.

With what purpose I'm not sure, but I'm thinking that we are a sort of organism that is a part of a larger plant intelligence, and we've been created by this plant intelligence through millions of years of evolution as a hyper-intelligent spore-system that has been given the ability to potentially develop interplanetary travel and thus make it possible for the (plant intelligence) to spread beyond its own planetary constraint.

Fungi are different from plants in that they also breath oxygen and exhale Co2, just like humans, if you look at fungal mycelium (a mushrooms underground communication-system) then you see very advanced forms of networks that attempts to organize in the most efficient manner, even with the use of intelligent adaptive techniques, just like human consciousness.

More like utilizing us through a brilliant interconnected network that makes up the entirety of life on the planet.

Using our genius, creativity and problem solving skills, is the quickest/safest way to spread to other planets.

We were all taught in grade school that the Sun would eventually swallow the Earth killing everything.

If fungi can get a toehold on other planets in range..then life can go on elsewhere.

 Quoting: Seer777

Basically..the Earth has been through multiple extinction level events. One could suppose that fungi and their form of sentience, would want to catch a ride off planet before the next one.

Using humans with their cleverness, curiosity and concepts, it might actually work.

Fun to think about.
