How's the other guy? It's pretty hard to hit something head-on at 50 mph and walk away. We were going through Atlanta a couple of years ago and several cars in front suddenly braked - one hit another and another hit that, etc. We got stopped, but then the guy behind in a minivan slammed into us at about 40ish. Totaled the minivan, but oddly enough only put a dent in our Subaru Outback door. Here were all these people out looking at the damage of their cars and just scratching their heads that ours had so little damage. LOL!

Did you get blamed for the accident? Not so much damage, but after being raged at by one crazy judge, and declared guilty before I could testify in my own defense, I watched the judge at my appeal hypnotize the jury by going on and on about all the nice treats the court had for them. Then he rewrote the law and convinced the jury to convict me of being hit by a speeding, careless, and inattentive driver.

The newer vehicles are like a cage when hit the whole cage takes the accident and the vehicle is pushed instead of caved in. You probably saw where the door caved in but the bar that is part of the cage didn't move.

I'm amazed as what the insurance company will write off these days.

Guy was going 50 mph. same thing happened to me and the old fuck had narcolepsy and fell asleep at the wheel. took me four years and surgery on my neck to get 130K. lucky i didn't end up in a wheel chair the rest of my life. things would have been much worse if i hadn't had my belt on and in fl if you're not wearing your belt you will only get 50% of your injuries. Thank you everyone. I didn't realize I'd lost track of this thread till Hawk-02 mentioned it. The result of my injuries turns out to be torn rotator cuff in two places. I wasn't charged, the other guy was. I feel bad for him, he was an older guy. He claimed no injuries at the scene, but the impact was so intense, I know he's hurt. Be safe everyone. You just never know. If they say it's true, it probably isn't.
