Simple case of work place violence

Three posts removed -- sorry, but they were all over the place and did nothing for this topic.

Not sure of this, but twice I've seen "friendly fire" in tweets -- now this article indicates that the South African gov't rec'd info that their dead citizen was killed by trainees.
This article also writes that a Jordanian civilian employed as a translator was killed.

In a preliminary statement, spokesman for South Africa’s department of International Affairs Nelson Kgwete said on twitter that its embassy in Amman “is investigating reports that a SA national was killed by trainee Jordanian policemen in that country.”
The Jordanian government also said a civilian by the name of Kamal al-Malkawi, who used to work as a translator, was also killed by the attacker.

The government did not release the identity of the attacker, but a former member of parliament said authorities told him the shooter was 29-year-old Anwar Abu Zaid. The ex-parliamentarian, Suleiman Saed, is a relative of Abu Zaid.

Abu Zaid's brother, Fadi, told The Associated Press that Anwar was mentally stable and "not an extremist at all."

He said his brother, a father of two, joined the security forces at age 18, had been working at the training center for several months and had left for work as normal on Monday morning. Fadi Abu Zaid said the family demands to know about the circumstances of Anwar's death and will not accept his body until the authorities release more information.

I do feel like this is just simple workplace violence, as another poster said. It seems like the same thing that happens in the U.S. almost everyday. I'm heading to Jordan next week, so I'm at least hoping that's all it is!

Even if it was religiously motivated, it still seems like a one-off thing. Some disgruntled dude decided he wanted to be cool like ISIS and went to work with a vengeance.

No because it's Green on Blue attacks, these are people they think are "allies" that then stab them in the back, it's a muslim classic, pretending to be your friend and when you are not ready he stabs you in the back. CLASSIC.
