Have you heard about how they will teach their young (and other adults, too) which people to avoid by sight? To me that shows quite the level of communication and memory. Go to Sleep |

Eight-year-old Gabi Mann from Seattle, Washington started feeding the crows in her family’s garden, and now this lucky little girl gets gifts from the crows. Quoting: Person445 Gabie keeps her gifts in specially labeled bags tucked safely inside a bead storage box. After all, these are her most treasured possessions. Her labels are detailed, for instance one containing a broken light bulb reads: “Black table by feeder. 2:30 p.m. 09 Nov 2014.” Gabie has received all kinds of gifts from the crows, including Lego pieces, beads, buttons, paper clips and pieces of foam. Her favorite gift of all is a pearl colored heart, she said, “It’s showing me how much they love me.” Con't @ [link to www.earthporm.com] Something this cool should be pinned ! |

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. The woman who is not pursued sets up the doctrine that pursuit is offensive to her sex, and wants to make it a felony. No genuinely attractive woman has any such desire. - H.L. Mencken, In Defense Of Women |

Manny years ago I had a similar experience. A crow with an injured wing was sitting in a tree right across the street from my bakery. When I noticed the crow was injured I took care of it by providing food & water. It would not let me touch it....so food & water was the least I could do. This went on for about 2 weeks. While running my shop I sometimes went outside to pick up the paper that people had thrown on the street just to put it inside a nearby trashcan. The crow must have been watching me doing so all the while. By the time its wing was OK again it came to visit me every day getting my attention by picking up the paper on the street & putting it into the trashcan....of course it got "paid" for its work with food and water. |

When I has in grade school there was a crow that would often hang out at the back of the playground. Someone had taught it to talk.. All bad words funny enough. "FUCKER!... FUCKER!!!" Peace is a lie, there is only passion. Through passion, I gain strength. Through strength, I gain power. Through power, I gain victory. Through victory, my chains are broken. The Force shall free me. Yep crows are smart I don't mind them at all here where I live they are fun to watch they are always up to something and yes they do look you right in the eye especially if they like your area they always come back. Cool birds loud at times but cool. |

We watch crows grab walnuts and drop them on the street. They then stand off to the side and wait for cars to run them over so they can get to the meat inside them. :doom360: |

One day going to summer camp I told the crow if it wanted to be free today was the day, we had a biological preserve at the camp that took in animals for the kids to play with and take care of. He flew away that day and never returned. Used to look at every crow I saw for years looking for the limping crow with the crooked leg. Miss the hell out of that animal. |

After taking care of it back to health, the damn thing wouldn't leave. Jay was an annoying thing, but as annoying as it was he was also loving for a wild bird. I got into falconry a few years ago, and the best I get from a hawk is not being torn up when it lands on me without any gear on aside from a few squirrels here and there. |
