A Nebraska company has recalled more than 167,000 pounds of ground beef due to possible E. coli contamination.

The company, All American Meats, Inc. of Omaha, issued the recall Sunday. According to the USDA, the problem was discovered on Oct. 30 when a sample tested positive result for E. coli.

There have been no confirmed reports of illness linked to the beef, however the USDA said products were shipped to retail locations nationwide.

Approximately 167,427 pounds of ground beef products were under the recall and produced on Oct. 16, 2015. The following products are subject to recall (View Labels):

Wow, you're dumb...the 80 lb boxes go to GROCERS! Not individual buyers. And guess where you buy the meat? At a GROCERY store!

People not washing hands is what is going on. Third world workers in restaurants? I wouldn't want to eat there. Well, to be fair, I've seen plenty of folk who should know better not washing after the potty also. Gross.

It's about crappy sanitation, factory "farming" when it comes to cows/chickens/pigs, and produce from Mexico.

Eat local. Eat organic. And, you won't have to worry about this shit.

Literally.

Probably not related, but interesting:

From the Vancouver Sun: Workers find vials of suspected E. coli while dismantling Kelowna camp

KELOWNA, B.C. - Health officials in Kelowna, B.C., says several vials of suspected E. coli bacteria found at a transient camp in the Okanagan don't belong to the local health authority.

But that simply deepens the mystery surrounding the discovery.

Interior Health spokeswoman Tara Gostelow says the health authority is not missing any of the small glass bottles, which resemble standard medical vials used in labs.

my girlfriend works at a meat processor in massachusetts, your "organic" beef comes through the same factory as all other meat, and gets handled by plenty of people before it goes to the store, unless you buy it directly from the farm, its getting handled by lots of people, so good luck with your "organic" crap. the price markup on beef is amazing, i see the prices that get tripled and quadrupled by our supermarkets, is disgusting.

I'm not a germophobe. But I stay away from salad bars. Even if it a nice place, still no. If you sit and watch people, you'll see some shit. Sure there are sneeze guards, but it's not sneezes I'm worried about. It's people that you see blow their nose a few tables over. Then 10 minutes later you see that person dip into the curton bucket with their hands.

People are weird you know. I once saw a man come out of the restroom, still zipping up and tucking in his shirt. So I know he didn't wash. Went straight to the salad bar. Grabs a plate out of the stack. After he rubbed the edges of the whole stack. Then put his whole palm on the plate under that one. Then proceeded to dig around in the fork and knife holders for like a minute.
