Do you believe we need doctors dentists etc. in general or taking care of yourself?

I'm someones who tries to avoid checkups for whatever reasons. I don't know if part of believes they're just there to get your money or what and will tell you something's wrong even if there isn't. There are circumstances such as you break your leg obviously you have to see a doctor or have a serious medical issue. Other than obvious emergencies I just kind of have mixed feelings on the subject. Do you believe we are capable of generally taking care of our own health or we need guidance from doctors, dentists, eye care specialists, if you want to go deeper nutritionists and other specialists?
