As far as paying back the 18 trillion, dont care, never gonna happen. Meantime until we declare BK why should I give more of me to them knowing they will only print the money they need to spend on crap anyhows? I dont mind paying taxes, it WAS a fair deal, I pay and they protect me and my family. WELL we all know how thats been working lately. |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 69723596 Canada 09/28/2015 06:28 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes, I do think it is very feasible. One of two things would have to happen. Dramatically grow the economy OR Dramatically reduce government spending. Either way, if he does even a fraction of all he is promising in terms of reducing size of government, changing trade agreements to benefit manufacturing in the U.S., etc... this tax plan will work just great. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 777204 From what I saw on 60 minutes----it is a good start-------but it would depend on Congress fixing the mess they themselves have caused----since they have approved the current tax code for decades.......and they seem unwilling to do so. They mostly have caused the damn mess and they cannot seem to want to fix it. It would also probably involve doing away with deductions--------------try that----never will happen. So what do you guys think? I like all he has said so far... However, Trump can't be trusted, just like Barry can't be trusted. Do you really think for one moment the puppetmaster bankers are going to let their slaves loose (keep extra money) on the plantation? |

User ID: 70417335 United States 09/29/2015 05:20 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes I think it would work. Only thing I would do different is his 0% taxes on those making less then 25K for singles & 50K for couples. I'd change it to 1% just on principle. Everyone needs to know they pay at least something towards making the country run. Including those on welfare. |

Including moi........by the way...................... I make the country run regardless, by the way.........I volunteer for every veterans rights organization you can think of and volunteer my time and sweat at homeless shelters. But thanks for the post, regardless. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 1584881 That would hit the middle class and poor FAR harder than it would the rich. The rich would just stop buying expensive items until the tax was repealed. And the rest of us would get destroyed. |

OP Sorry for taking so long to get back on this thread but to answer your question,,, I feel some deducutions are helpful, Charitable ones, Mortgage, Dependent deductions and Property Taxes,, and yes these are all ones that I have so maybe not a fair answer. The tax Loopholes that wealthy people are able to take to drive their tax burden down is troublesome. As is the Uber rich guy like Buffet who said his secratary paid a higher bracket then he did comes to mind. However in his case keep in mind he is not paying taxes on an Income/Salary but instead on long term investment gains Im sure. Also, just because Buffet takes a risk with money each day doesnt mean he should be penalized anymore than you or I. Bottom line, rich or poor and someone like me somewhere in the middle I just want to know everyone is paying their fair share. And in my mind a flat tax and or a consumption tax seems to be the fairest. Living in Alaska many of my neighbors have actual jobs during the summer where they pay income taxes like us but in the "off season" they work for cash and collect unemployment. Legal? no and likely to be caught? nope BUT if there was a VAT/consumption tax we would capture some of the ill gotten gain when they shopped at Walmart or Home Depot. Just my opinion and we all know what that means. Also, thanks for the civil response, it seems most people come out swinging when there is a difference of opinion here. |
