My children are sick again. Ruled out everything environmental. Advice on entry level radiation meter please.

I smell chlorine in my toilet. My fish are fine. I double filter our water now and just changed all my water filters, which costs us about $130. I'm having the gas lines checked by a friend, and will get lab results back Monday. My husband checked and tightened all connections in our basement prior to gas company visit so maybe he corrected a slow leak?

Tomorrow or Monday is the day my middle child should vomit if he's going too. He vomited Wednesday morning so.....it's on a schedule. My 6 year old daughters stool was solid and normal today. She's had diarrhea for a week but no vomiting. That's a fairly good sign.

Stress could be the reason for my hair loss. It's tough here.

It's not consistent vomiting. My oldest vomited Sunday and Friday. My middle son on Wednesday so he's due tomorrow or Monday if he's going too. I don't ask them constantly how they are feeling and we don't discuss this in front of them. I don't want them worrying and causing nausea.

The doctors won't see you for occassionally vomiting, even if it's been consistent for 2 months. That's why we took my oldest to ER yesterday and his ER doc agreed that he would do testing that family practitioner probably would not.

I'm doing everything I can for my children and making the best choices I can for them. This thread has given me things to ponder that no matter how many times I've circled this issue, I never thought of.

I didn't want to bring that up or jump to a conclusion.

If it happened last year around the same time it sounds controlled.

If the kids aren't vaccinated could they be picking up weird viruses?

How old is the house? What about lead based paint?

That is a myth. Vaccinated kids are more sickly and likely to have compromised immune function whether you believe it or not.

It is the opposite of what you have been told.

Hey guys. I've been hesitant to update you all as I don't want to "jinx" anything. Not that I believe in jinxing so to speak but with your kids you just never chance it.
It's been a full week since anyone has been sick. My boys are still sleeping in my living and family room. My plan is too move them back to their room on Tuesday night pending no more illness.

We are waiting on bacteria test results from our water, all other water testing was negative. Negative for led paint in the house.

We did find a very small (so small the sniffer missed it) gas leak at the pilot light on our furnace and that has been repaired.

Lab results were negative for bacteria or parasites on my son. I made a doctors appointment for him for next week just so I can squeeze him in for this illness last minute with her. So, if he's not sick I'm taking a child in for a when he does get sick visit. Really stupid set up. I can get a last minute appointment for follow up but told to go to urgent care if it's new illness. Not sure why it works this way.

Mold will be more extensive to rule out but we combed through our basement, we see no area where we would suspect it. Only 1 wall is completely buried and that's the wall I'd suspect most but it looks great. Our downstairs has 8 full size windows and 2 doors so the air isn't stagnant. If I move my children down to their room on Tuesday and they get sick, we're moving them to the spare room on the 3rd floor and bringing mold folks in.

At this point I'm hoping the gas leak was the culprit, that it just happened to accumulate in the dead space of their ceiling until the humidity came down, the gas came down and made them Ill. Their ceilings are tall, 10 ft maybe and finished. The person who did our inspection said this house was built and insulated well. Could the gas have hung out, accumulated? I don't know but I'm grasping at straws here.

Thanks for the prayers of health for my family. I'll update again next weekend to let you all know how the move back downstairs went.

If you are asking about a Geiger counter essentially, you should look at the inspector. They have a line of less expensive ones but are still worthwhile.

To rule out mold...put some nasty looking dust in a Petri dish with a little water and hide it in a cool dark place...and see if mold grows from the dust..

Yes mold is a problem if visible..but they release million upon millions of spores that turn to dust....breathing in this will hinder the nervous system and cause many many different variety of symptoms...
