I've been noticing a lot of propping up of certain Far East Asian individuals on TV, specifically on talent shows for entertainment in Las Vegas and Radio City Music Hall. Last year it was a Japanese winner for Las Vegas and this year a lot of praise going toward what look to be Chinese talents for Radio City Music Hall. I noticed it on British talent shows as well starting from last year. Something is cooking. Either that or they've just realized there's a potential market of consumers to tap into. They make it look like a fair talent contest and even have viewers voting for the winners but I sense it's all predetermined that's why I say the show owners have a motive behind who wins the show.

Nothing against anyone; just my observations.

It still boggles my mind when I see the college kids around town.

They are all grouped up waiting for the bus or hanging in the quad between classes and everyone is looking at their phones.

No giggling, no meeting new friends or talking to the cute boy...just blankly staring at their phones.

Like with any tool, there are good and evil uses for today's technology. If you use it to communicate with family around the globe then you are using it in a positive manner. The evil use would be to consume by browsing social pages and mass media content. Even content providers are now becoming content creators trying to tap into their subscribers such as Amazon, Netflix and Hulu.

I see it as a waste of raw resources. Time, money, water, raw materials all going into manufacturing gadgets to mostly consume entertainment media in our hands and on screens in our homes.

Could you also fathom where all the old technology material has gone? Plastic, mainboards, soldered metal... All in a landfill creating gases flying up into the skies and raining down on us and our crops. However, a portion of it is recycled into a new gadget that you might soon buy whether it be a car or a smartwatch.

We pay a price for the past, present and future of our (albeit fake) desire to consume.

Much, much more can be said by just thinking about all that we do on this planet.
