Quoting: Anonymous Coward 68474273 thanks ... I didn't know that ... I think Net 10 is owned by tracfone also ... only reason I didn't switch was because of all these minutes I had built up since 2004 ... which may be gone ... time for beer number 5 |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69943827 WHY ? i only buy the PsOS that are 9.99 at walmart with triple minutes as then everything IS anonymous and stays anonymous and yes it does... but 3000 minutes ? suppose you lose the phone whatever - Yeah, it was stupid of me to let that many minutes accumulate on one phone -- with pre-paid it's better to just buy a new one every year or two , they are so cheap -- my new LG 34C Android was only $10 on the tracfone website ... I've been paying around $80-100 a year for a Tracfone, so even if I lose all these minutes I still come out ahead over using a "real" wireless plan ... a lesson for other people who use these things -- don't let your minutes accumulate -- use 'em or loose 'em, or just get a new phone now and then. BTW, Tracfone online support says they have no record of the minutes transferring -- and told me to call the number in Belize or wherever it is ... oh hell ... |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 44290399 United States 09/04/2015 01:36 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Though they only transferred as minutes, from what I understand they should also transfer as texts and data also ... i.e 3621 minutes from an old Tracfone should also become 3621 texts and 3.621 Gigabyte of 3G wireless data on a new Android ... Anyway, the lesson to other cheap people who don't yak on the phone all day and just need basic cell service -- look into the the other options available, they may be more expensive in the short term but cheaper in the long run ... Or you can always get an Obama Phone ... |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 76538212 United States 06/15/2020 02:26 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I guarantee you, when you call them they are not going to be able to replace minutes lost. I've had lots of TracFones and they never give lost minutes back. I just traded in a broken phone last month, charger port stopped working. It was a nice phone, had a magnetometer on it for a compass and I use Signal where you point the phone camera up to any star and it tells you about that star. I enter lots of contests too so keeping my number was high priority. The phone they sent as a replacement sucks. No magnetometer, no compass, unable to use starmap and on top of that, they said by the time the replacement got to me the system had already recycled my phone number to someone else. I need to find a better TracFone like my old nice smart one. |
