Quoting: Anonymous Coward 60244656 Is "illegal immigration" truly a serious enough problem for/to you that you'd be willing to accept a government-imposed RFID chip in you? Of course they'd start with the illegal immigrants and visitors with visas, but you know as well as I do, it wouldn't stop there. Kind of like how the TSA was created after 9/11, but instead of capturing terrorists, it harasses American citizens. Conditions are created whereby the citizens will beg for the very enslavement technologies and policies that the government desires to put in place...or so the government hopes. Acceptance of a chip will be a "nudge". Here's an example... It been rumored, and tried, some places successfully, to force all healthcare workers to get a flu shot. There has been a lot of pushback over this from nurses. As it happens, at my work i track every employee who gets, and does not get, a flu shot. And the dissenters must tell why. This isnt a company thing. Its a Joint Commission on Healthcare requirement for the past three years. It ends in 2020. Now... How can they make people feel... Compelled or nudged to get a shot and not so much forced? A nudge. One of the part of Obamacare is a "star" rating for home health, hospitals, nirsing homes etc. I work extensivly with the measures that make up my companies "star" rating (which is from one half to five stars, 10 deciles). There are for my type lf facility, 9 items that make up the star rating. Amazingly, the gathering of this data started in 1999 on all patients. But there are other measures that are coming online in 2018 that, if the company is compliant, will increase the star rating, and thier level of reimbursement. One of those items is how many of the healthcare workers got a flu shot. See, they dont have to mandate it at the goverment level. Just tie it to quality ratings and then institute pay for quality, which they call "value based purchasing" to make those in charge push the employees to get the shot. Let the company mandate it. They will get paid more if they do. See the nudge? A chip would be done in a similer fasion. Oh, and i expect that there will be a nudge for flu shots and pneumonia too. It will, probably come in the form of certain medicare benefits if you get it. It will be tasty enough for nearly every medicare beneficiary to want one. Read Cass Sundstiens book "Nudge". I dont like the guy, but he spills the beans on how they will control the population. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 56986246 Very good point. I often think of this. I imagine only the intense crimes get to access the tracking system as of yet, due to cost. no there would still be crime just people would get caught easier . Its like people thing killing will stop just because the killer knows theyll be caught sooner. |
