As long as we are in the name-changing frame of mind in the USA, let's change the name of Mt. Ranier to Tahoma!

Mt. Ranier was named by Captain George Vancouver in the 1700s for his friend Rear Admiral Peter Vancouver of the British Navy who FOUGHT AGAINST OUR COUNTRY IN THE REVOLUTIONARY WAR!

So while he was honored by the Brits, he doesn't deserve mention in the USA; the huge mountain deserves to be called it's original Puyallup Indian name TAHOMA, (Mother of Waters).

I think we have a good case for renaming this beautiful mountain and a good reason to do so.

What other American sites would you like renamed? And why?

MOUNT RANIER (or hopefully MOUNT TAHOMA)

The US should change all names given by the Spanish Conquistadors.
